This one was requested a while ago by why0325. Thank you for the great idea and I'm so sorry for taking so long, it took me a while to come up with a plot and idea for it. Other than in the country names, I'm gonna write this in normal modern English. I apologize if my understanding of the language I used for this is wrong, the Old English I got from a random translator I found on Google. So without further ado, I present to you.........a Sabriel fantasy AU. Don't play the song until I say too, otherwise you ruin the surprise.

I found the art on Google, if anyone knows who made it please, please tell me so I can credit them.

*DISCLAIMER*: Story includes Destiel, Michifer, Adamandriel, Charvelle, and Crobby, as well as pregnancy and a little angst (well it hurt me, but it's nothing major. I'm too nice to my babies <3). If you are not comfortable with any of the above, you do not have to read.

*DISCLAIMER #2*: MICHAEL AND LUCIFER ARE NOT ACTUALLY RELATED. Michael was adopted by Chuck as an infant because his friend died and Michael was his son. He was so much like a son to Chuck that he became sort of his actual son, but him and Lucifer never formed a brotherly bond. They were only ever like friends.

Gabriel POV

Once upon a time, not so long ago, two kingdoms were at war. Okay, they still are, but hey, you need some backstory and why not break through the wall and make a Bon Jovi reference.

On one side was, well more like is, Fæderríce (literally meaning "heaven"), a powerful yet beautiful, peaceful, and prosperous kingdom. The other, Dræfecyne ("dræfend" meaning "hunter" and "cynedom" meaning "power kingdom"), a strong hunting colony with a very good trade and an excellent game export. The kings, Chuck Shurley of Fæderríce and John Winchester of Dræfecyne, were both very stubborn and brought to a disagreement over boundaries. Until late into the rule of these two, the countries had a very strong bond and were content with the way they lived. However, King John wanted more. He craved land, and proposed to King Chuck to, how did he say it, that he would "take Eden off [his] hand's" for a much larger game shipment and less pay for future shipments. As this is home to many beautiful and peaceful magical creatures, such as centaurs and fairies, it is also a sacred forest for our people, so Chuck was very, very offended, and rightfully so. He prohibited all further trade and communication with the kingdom, and the peace was shattered. John, of course, was confused, and unsuccessfully tried to take the fort just before the forest. Since then, no attack has been launched by either side.

Now to the present. I'm sitting in my bed, reading some Shakespeare (a lot of people don't understand his works but I find them magnificent), when a carrier pigeon flies in my window. I set down my book and take the paper attached to his foot, unrolling the small note as he flies away. It reads "Meet me, at the eastern edge of Eden nearest to the fort where the battle occurred. We need to talk. -W". As mysterious and dangerous as it sounds, I can't pass up the exhilaration of sneaking out of the palace and traveling near Dræfecyne. I smirk slightly as I set down the note and go back to my earlier position, where I wait until nightfall. I sneak out with ease and wander the mostly deserted streets, aside from the occasional man who had a few too many or a prostitute who paid no attention as I passed.

I make it to Eden's eastern edge swiftly, taking my favorite steed. It appears that I'm early, so I climb into a tree and pop a lollipop into my mouth as I begin watching the fairies. They aren't the usual ones I watch when I sneak out, as I have never been on this side of the forest, but they still do beautiful tricks with the water and the trees. After a little bit, I hear the muffled sound of footsteps approaching and look down from my location, catching a glimpse of a tall, masculine form in a dark cloak slowly walking in my direction. When he gets 10 feet away, he drops the cloak to, surprisingly, reveal a very expensive appearing set of clothing. He appears unarmed, so I hop down from the tree, startling the fairies and causing them to fly off. He seems startled by my entrance, but quickly straightens up in a manner you rarely see outside of the royal family.
