We just finished out parent night for band
So of course there was food
You went straight for the sweet treats
I tried to stop you but you threaten to feed me poison (I'm allergic to wheat)
You started talking fast
I started to tune out you nonsense
Only picking up bits and pieces of the conversation
You went on and on about something
Somehow easily switching topics
Connecting unconnected subjects
When your mother came to grab you
You wouldn't oblige to her orders
So I had to push you with my saxophone case
To your car
Let's just say it was hard to not smile at that fact that you needed me
That you wouldn't leave without me forcing you to your car
It sounds bad when phasing it that way
But I completely was astonished by that
