There are monsters out there,
desperate to suck the marrow from your bones
and the hope for your heart.

They will give chase,
catch you when you are little and weak
and don't yet know about the wolf and how big and bad he is.

And they will trap you,
lock you away in a place they call home,
make you believe you are one of them,
the one cog in the wheel
that doesn't quite fit.

They do not know it, but this place,
this pillow reeking of sea salt and these caverns raked over your skin
will forge you a weapon.
A sword of steel and silver,
stronger than these four walls and their pretty lies.

So what will you do,
when they beg for mercy,
plead for forgiveness?

Laugh.

And watch their everything crumble,
burning into the ruins of the life you never got to have.
