Vowels 아, 에, 이, 애, 야, 예, 어, 얘, and must always be placed beside a consonant.

Example: 
English: Yes
Hangul: 네
Romanization: Ne

Vowels 오, 우, 으, 요,  and must always be placed under a consonant.

Example:
English: Who?
Hangul: 누구?
Romanization: Nugu?

Vowels 와, 왜, 워, 웨, 외, 위 and must alwas be placed equally on both sides of the consonant.

Example:
English: Are you okay?
Hangul: 괞찬하?
Romanization: Gwaenhchanha?
