" Hey. " Damon said on the phone.

" Hi, how are you? " I asked

" Well, I miss you, how about you? "

" I miss you too, and I'm fine. "

" How's the fam? " he asked

" Well, they missed me, told me about their vacation in Europe, then asked me if I found him, and I said, no, I didn't tell them that I'm you know. " I said

" Stefan and I spent the whole day reading the files Liz gave us about you and your mother, and so far, we have-"

Damon, please don't hesitate to say nothing.

I'll understand.

" Well, it looks like we are going to have a little difficulty in finding your father. " Damon said

That'll do.

" Thank you, for trying. " I said

" Candace, we are going to find him, we still have six weeks. And a lot can happen in six weeks. "

A whole lot, that it includes me dying.

" Damon, thank you. " I said

" Candace, you are not going to die on me, I'm not letting that happen. "

" I won't. Once we find him, I'm turning you, and we're gonna have a long vampire life. "

" Exactly, once you come back here in Mystic Falls, we will look for him. "

I realized something.

" Damon, did it occur to you that he might be a vampire? " I asked

" It did not. "

" Think of it, Patrick claims that I have been born in 900BC, so my father would have been born earlier, so-"

" He might be one or he might just be magically preserved in a box "

" Yes. "

" Well, then, we might be in search for a vampire. "

I am asleep but my nerves aren't.

I opened my eyes when I heard a gagging sound.

I gasped.

" Xavier? " I said

I put my hands on my neck, and it's bleeding.

Matt turned on the lamp.

Xavier stood there with blood all over his face, and he was grasping for air.

" What the-" Matt said

Xavier pulled back his fangs.

" Candace, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I didn't know what got in to me and-"

I am a hemophiliac.

My carotid artery is bleeding out.

" Matt, uh, get Damon's blood. I need it. " I said

Matt opened the fridge inside my room and got me Damon's blood vial and I drank it.

" You're a vampire. " I said

Xavier stood there looking at me and Matt.

" I'm so sorry. " Xavier said

" I am a walking dose of vervain, that's why you-" I said

" That explains it, the house is loaded with it, water, food everything. " Xavier said

" Who turned you? " I said

" I have no idea. I was in California. " he said

My bite mark isn't healing.

And I am getting dizzy.

" Matt, can you uh, call-" I said

" Who? " Matt said

" Da-" I couldn't finish the sentence.
