We don't usually have breakfast.
Breakfast is just a couple of blood bags.
But since Candace is here, well, Jeremy doesn't have breakfast, he just, I don't know what he does.
But since Candace is here-
I don't think it's appropriate to serve her blood bags.
We could just drive to Matt's place.
But I think he's at the grill now.
" So, you and Candace, huh? " Stefan said
" Hello, baby bro. "
He looked at me.
" Yeah, why? "
" It's a good thing that you're moving on. "
I frowned.
" And you have been talking all night? " he said
" Yeah. "
" Or so I've heard. "
" What do you want? "
" Well, I heard that she's dying. "
" Yes, she is. "
" Of what? "
" I don't know. All I know and she knows that if she doesn't find her father now, like this lifetime, because nobody knows how long she lives. "
" Why don't you just change her? "
I looked at him.
" What? "
" You know? Give her your blood and kill her. "
Then Candace is in the room.
" Well, we spent all night talking about vampires and how to be one. " she said
" You're actually considering the thought? " I said
" Well, I am considering it. " she said
Stefan and I looked at her.
" Dax?! " I said
Dax?!
" Well, although I couldn't bear the idea of eating human beings-"
" We don't eat human beings. " Stefan and I said in unison.
" Fine! Drink human blood. "
" Better! " I said
" Although, I couldn't bear the idea of drinking blood from humans, I think I would have some perks of it. I mean, come on! Extra sensitive hearing and compulsion?! Who wouldn't want that? "
" Seriously? " Stefan said
" Why not?! "
" You're exactly like Damon. " he said
" What? "
He smiled at us.
And patted Candace at her shoulder then left.
" Dax? " Candace said
" You caught that huh? "
" Yeah. I thought you like Candace. "
" I like Candace. But when you told me that everyone you love and loves you has a different name for you, I decided to create you one. "
" So, Dax came in your mind? "
" Candace, Damon. "
" I can see where the D and the A comes from, but where does the X come from? "
" It was supposed to be a plus, but it'll be Dat. So, X, well, people sign letters with X. "
" What like XOXO? "
" Yes. "
She looked at me.
" Dax. I like it. It actually has an explanation. "
