Once we reached my room, Candace is no where in sight.

But we can still smell blood.

It's either someone dropped a blood bag or Candace dropped her blood bag or-

I could hear her.

" Where is she? " Xavier said

" Use your senses. " Matt said

Without thinking, I walked in my bathroom.

And there she was.

Coughing out blood.

" Candace? " I said

She didn't look up.

" Oh my god. " Caroline said

" Call Meredith. " I said as I whooshed next to Candace.

I let her hair up.

" Damon? " she said

" I'm here. " I said

She was crying.

" I can't take it. " she said

She rested her head on my chest.

She was shaking.

" Everything's gonna be alright. " I said

" No. " she said

" Shh. Everything is gonna be alright. " I said

" No. " she said

She was sobbing.

" Shh-"

" Make the pain go away. " she said

" What? "

" All I feel now is pain. "

I frowned.

" Let's get you washed up. " I said

We stood up and walked to the faucet.

She washed her face.

And I washed my hands.

And then we were lying on my bed.

Candace looks so tired.

I cannot tell her that she fluctuates.

Because she wouldn't understand it now.

And because she couldn't understand it now.

" Damon? "

" What? " I said as I put my arm around her.

" Make it go away." She said

" Dr. Fell is on her way. " I said

And then, I am inside her mind.

I made her some scene to forget the pain.

The beach.

In Hamptons.

Her birthday.

" Damon? " she said

" Yeah. "

I think this is her happy day.

" Do you think it's weird to have the beach to ourselves? " she said

" No. "

She smiled.

I held her hand.

" Everything's fine. " I said

I made her forget the pain.

I kissed her.

And then we just lay down the sand.

Cuddling.

I think Candace fell asleep.

So I went out her mind to with reality.

" Damon? " Meredith said

" Meredith. " I said as she entered the room.

" What happened? " she said

" I have no idea. All I know is she was throwing up blood." I said

" Blood? "

" My whole bathroom still looks like our blood bag stash exploded. "

" Can I check? "

" Help yourself. "

She went in my bathroom.

I heard Meredith gasp.

She went out.

" I see. " she said

" Yep. "

" What was she feeling last night? "

" I have no idea. She's not exactly herself last night. "

" The term coined is fluctuating. "

" Fluctuating? "

" By morning, she's Candace Hawthorne. By evening, she's Aria. Her counterpart. "

" Didn't anyone tell you about her curse? "

" Damon, we need her in the hospital. If she's coughing out blood-"

" No one is taking me to the hospital. " Candace said still with her eyes closed.

" Candace, I hate to break it to you, but you're dying, and you need medical attention. " Meredith said

" I know, but it's not gonna work anyway, I'll still die. "

" Not if we find your father. " I said

" That is a big if . "

" Candace, stop thinking negatively! "

" You still have time! "

" Hey! " Meredith said

We both looked at Meredith.

" I know, you think you don't have time anymore, but you still have, live your life, if you don't want to spend it in the-" Meredith said

" I don't want to spend it in the hospital. " Candace said

" We can bring the hospital here. " Meredith said

Both of them are looking at me.

" Not that I don't like the idea. " I said

" I could prescribe you home confinement and you can have chemotherapy here. " Meredith said

" I think that's a great idea. " Candace said

" I can come here from time to time to check on you. "

" And I know someone who can take care of you. " I said
