- He adds a lot of '~~~' at the end of his text messages. Rarely will you ever see a 'Doitsu' without at least 20 '~' following it.
- Both he and Romano play rock, paper, scissors at the beginning of each week to decide who gets to be called Italy for the remainder of that day. He usually wins.
- He will literally die if he goes 3 days without pasta. But because he's a country he comes back each time. It's only ever happened once, and that was when he wouldn't eat for several days after finding out about the Holy Roman Empire's death.
- He knows Germany is HRE, that's why he isn't so sad about his death.
- He may be extremely close to Germany, but he's probably even closer to Japan.
