29 - its gonna be okay

Start from the beginning

Almost as if on cue Winnie knocks on the door, which was pointless since he barged in seconds later anyways

"Heyyyy guys, Callie made breakfast for y'all before you have to hit the road. Eggs and toast, in the breakfast lounge ready for ya"

Winnie waves the losers to follow him to the lobby, and they follow dragging their suitcases and luggage along with them

After breakfast, exchanging numbers, and Winnie driving the van back to the motel from the mechanic, the losers are all set and ready to head home. None of them want to of course, but they have to for Eddie

"Bye Philip, bye Callie!" Richie calls from the doorway as him and the group exit the lobby. Callie and Philip yell back saying bye to the losers. The van is back and looking good as new, the mechanics even gave it a wash. Richie rifles through his wallet scrapping cash together and shoved it in Winnie's hands

Winnie laughs and shoves it back "What are you doing? It's fine! I know the guy at the mechanic, he gave me a discount. Keep your money"

"are you sure?" Richie asks

"Of course" Winnie replies, starting to load luggage into the van "Now you guys better get going before Eddie's mom shits herself"

Richie smiles and thanks Winnie again for everything, and tells him to keep in touch

Richie doesn't want to lose him. Again. He's the only family he has left that doesn't treat him like shit

Bev gets into the drivers seat and rolls down her window "Ok guys, hop in we're all packed up"

The losers say bye to Winnie and get in the van one by one. Richie's last, and gives Winnie a hug before he shuts the door

"BYYYYEEE!!!" He shouts out the window as they drive away from the motel. He doesn't stop looking back until Winnie's only a small waving blur in the distance

The drive home wasn't bad. Short, because they were already about half way there coming from the motel. A few minutes ago they arrived in Derry, passing the worn old sign that said "Welcome to Derry"

Eddie had sneered at that ugly sign reading the name of his ugly and horrid town which he grew up in. The town being so small, he was now already only a few blocks away from his house. They drove down Main Street and took a left to his block. Just a few houses down from the Pharmacy was the Kaspbrak house. They pulled up slowly and stopped. Everyone was silent for what felt like forever

Eddie wanted to cry. Stupid house. Stupid perfectly cut grass and bushes, stupid porch with the wicker coffee table and wooden porch swing. Stupid door mat that said "welcome" when he felt definitely not welcome. He could see the light was on in his room, so his mom must've been snooping around in there. He's never been this terrified of his own home

Eddie sighs and opens the van door, then swings on his backpack. Richie hops out and goes around to the back and grabs Eddies suitcase for him. Eddie meets him behind the van, head down sadder then ever

"Ed's" Richie says looking into his eyes "It's gonna be okay. If you EVER need anything you just call me. Okay? I'm always here for you. Were all always here for you"

Eddie nods letting only a single tear fall down his face. He wipes it off quick with his sleeve, kisses Richie goodbye, and continues on toward to his house

"Bye Eddie!!!" Beverly calls from the drivers seat window, followed by the rest of the losers saying bye

"Bye guys! See ya!" Eddie calls back waving. He watches them as they drive all the way down the block, then turn right to drop off Bill

Eddie sighs and takes a deep breath. He turns around to his house and walks up the polished wooden stairs to the front door. He tries the handle to see if it's unlocked, which it wasn't. She must not be home

He goes and checks under the flower pot by the wicker table for the spare key. It's not there. Why? Had she moved it? Just taken it away?

Eddie decides to just ring the door bell to see if she's home. He rings it, then hears her heavy footsteps toward the door. Eddie counts 3 bolts unlocking before the door opens to Sonia

He slowly looks up and meets her evil eyes looking down on him. Surprisingly not angry as he expected. Maybe...she forgot?

She smiles brightly "Oh my precious Eddie Bear" she wails suddenly, pulling Eddie into a tight hug. Too tight of a hug, Eddie feeling like he can barely breathe. She releases and smiles at him with sympathy. Almost as if she felt bad for him

"Hi mom" Eddie says bluntly, not even bothering to kiss up to her anymore. No mommy. No hello mommy I missed you. None of that bullshit. She pulls him forward and slithers behind him, closing the door and bolting up the locks again

"Well why don't you bring your things upstairs and unpack, I have company at the moment" Sonia says returning to the living room and sitting down next to some other middle aged woman with brochures

"Hello Edward. I'm Beatrice" the Woman says waving to Eddie

What? Who? Beatrice? Brochures? So many thoughts runs through Eddie's mind. Beatrice sips a glass of Lemonade and starts talking to Sonia about someone named Timothy. Eddie becomes uninterested and hauls his bags upstairs to his room

He opens the door to his room. It's pretty much unrecognizable. His comics and gadgets off the shelves, calendar and posters down from the walls. Brand new bedding. Computer confiscated

He drops his bags down on the ground and flops into bed, shutting his eyes. Who knows what's gonna happen after this Beatrice leaves. Who knows what the hell is going on
