Eddie woke up the next morning anxious. Nervous and anxious. And also sad. And scared too. He tossed and turned the night before unable to fall asleep, worrying about what would happen to him or what his mom would do. He's sure she has many plans to torture him already
He sits up in his spot on the right side of the pull out couch, next to Richie who was sleeping still. Mike and Beverly sit at the two stools in the small kitchen listening to a story Bill was telling them. Ben came in the motel door with a tray of paper coffee cups
"I went to go get more toilet paper in the lobby and Phillip INSISTED on bringing everyone coffee"
Bill turns around to Ben and takes a cup from the tray. Bev takes one too
"Mike? Want one?" Ben asks gesturing the tray to him
"I'll pass, thanks Ben"
Ben nods "Ok. What about Stan? Where is he?"
"Sleeping s-s-still" Bill says heading to their bedroom "I'll go ch-check on him"
"I'll have some" Eddie croaks, waving Ben over to bring him the tray. He takes one and turns on the TV, then flips to the news channel
Bill emerges from him and Stan's bedroom door, mumbles 'I'll be right back' to Stan, and closes the door gently. He sighs and takes a seat in a chair near the couch
"Apparently S-Stan's parents are ma-mad at him..." he tells the group and sips his coffee
"Why? What happened?" Bev asks
Bill shrugs "He said he d-doesn't wanna talk about it y-yet"
Eddie and Bill exchange nervous glances, but Bill shrugs it off again
"Can we wake up Richie" Bev asks
"Sure I don't care" Eddie replies
Beverly walks over to Richie and shouts "RICHIE! RICHIE GET UP QUICK!!! SONIA'S HERE!!!!!" and shakes him wildly. Richie practically explodes, and flys off the couch stumbling to his feet
Beverly cracks up laughing, and so does everyone else
"Hey NOT funny at alllll" Richie hisses "It's not okay to joke about the Kasp-viper like that!"
"I know I knoooow I'm sorry" Bev says sympathetically "Speaking of her, Eddie has she called or anything yet? Cause weren't you supposed to be home by now?"
Eddie nods and picks up his phone "yeah I texted her and told her about the motel situation. I didn't get a reply yet though..."
He looks at his phone to see 3 texts from his mom and 4 missed calls. He wouldn't be surprised if she sent the police looking for him in Ohsita by now. He doesn't call her back, but reads her texts
Mom: A motel?! Do you know how unsanitary those are!
Mom: I'm filing a missing child report AS I SPEAK. I'm having the police search for you in Oshita
Mom: You know what? Nevermind. Just get home now. You'll receive your punishments once you get back.
Eddie tosses his phone down and shuts his eyes. He accepts the fact that he's gonna suffer through whatever his mom throws at him
"Bev we needa get home. Like now before my mom kills me"
Beverly nods and takes a sip of her coffee "Gotcha chief. Let's pack it up guys"
The losers listen to Beverly's demand and get to packing. As Richie packs up his very few things he took with him, he thinks about Winnie and how lucky he is to have ran into him on the trip. He hopes that they can stay long enough for him to say bye and to exchange numbers
