Grandpa Kevin, Kim, Odo, and I found Nichole lounging in the Elevator Room. She and Jimmy were enjoying a smoke. "Hey, there!" she giggled as we walked in. There was a twinkle in her eye, and she was smiling broadly.
I didn't want to believe what I'd read. I wanted to believe it was all some elaborate, gruesome prank, and the diary was just a forgery.
"Is something wrong?!" Nichole asked while smiling up at our grim faces.
The room had gone dead quite. Smoke and tension hung motionless in the air.
I held up the diary. She saw it. And we all saw that she saw it. Nichole's smile evaporated. She went pale. Her eyes darkened. It was no forgery.
I reached for my weapon.
