Along time ago the moon goddess created her species The werewolfs were her sons and they served the land and the mermaids her daughters they served the ocean. They all knew they were created for their mother the moon goddess. When the full moon came their mother the moon goddess will compel the mermaids to go to their moon pool and will compel the werewolfs to turn out of will like they can normally do.
Wolf's live in packs and mermaids live in pods but the moon goddess made some of her sons and daughters mates a fated pair so a large portion of the mermaids population was on land with a werewolf mate or just living, but the famous werewolf vs vampire war came and lots of werewolfs had to send their mates to safety because even if they weren't their mates they were made to protect the daughters of the moon so they left heavy hearted. Werewolves and vampires are enemies because Zeus for the first time had twins with Hera and the twins were the moon goddess Selena and the Sun goddess Sibil and they of course hated each other so when Sibil heard her twin created a species she made her own vampires. It's in their DNA to hate each other.
While the werewolfs were fighting the mermaids splint into 15 groups of 300 and (together there were 4600 mermaids) they spit over the 7 seas and some queen mermaids were reluctant to share their territories but 3 pregnant queen mermaids with the power of ice, water, and fire didn't mind they were practically sisters so them being queens of the same territory well they thought It would make them stronger.
While that happened the werewolfs well the 3 Alpha Kings were planning and getting ready for war with help of the witches so it wasn't really a surprise when the wolves and the vampires lost a lot of soldiers so both sides called a peace treaty. But that doesn't mean once in a while they don't kill a vampire or the vampires don't kill a werewolf as long as they don't cross a big line. The Alpha Kings were worried for their betas they had mermaid mates so they were mateless because they had lost connection to them.
The Alpha Kings eventually merged their territories and their werewolfs became one pack. And with werewolfs being only male the moon goddess granted them a human mate and most gave birth the boys while only 49% of the wolf population is she Wolf's.
As for mermaids for repopulating on the 25th of their birthday the moon goddess will compel the mermaid and lead her to a moon pool and as the moon is over head they will become with child. The reason for this is that they can't just go and rape a person and they were told to stay in the ocean so this is the only way and besides rape their is finding your mate since werewolfs live on land and the pod elder council made a rule to never leave the ocean unless it's an emergency, And let no one know your a mermaid.
*200 years later*
3 young future mermaid Queens all of the age 18 are tasked with the assignment to watch a rogue powerful mermaid and have to go on land to track her. The three of them are their territories next queens and they are the most powerful pod called Oceans deep and this is a coronation mission if this is success they all will be crowned Queens right away.
What makes them a more powerful is that every queen has a special power and every 3 queens before them has had fire,ice,and water and combined their power will be absolute and any enemies don't stand a chance.
