Riddler sighed in content as his henchmen reported back to him. Someone had solved the first two riddles. Hopefully, it was Bruce Wayne and not your boy toy. Either way, it didn't matter.

Now all he had to do was wait.

------------

You glared at the camera above you as you tried to calm your breathing. The more you panicked the more oxygen you'll lose. But, there was no way you could calm down not knowing if Jason was alive or dead. You sighed and punched the lid.

"It's okay, I'll be okay. Jason's okay and he's on his way," you said, your voice quivering.
-------------

Jason, did in fact, get to the river in time. In time to punch some goons in the face.

After finishing off the goons, Jason began to look for the next riddle. He walked down the bank of the river until he arrived at a picnic-like setting.

There's was a basket on the middle of a blanket and a lit candle. Jason slowly approached the basket and opened it. Inside was a tape recorder with a green question mark painted on it.

Jason picked it up and turned it on.

"Congratulations Mister Wayne! You've found the second riddle!" Riddler exclaimed, "Now, the man who invented it doesn't need it for himself. The man who bought it doesn't need it for himself. The man who needs it doesn't know it when he needs it. What am I?"

Jason put the tape recorder down on the blanket as he thought about the answer. As he started to get up a voice stopped him.

"But wait! It wouldn't be very fair of me to not give you a hint for the location! I close my eyes, for my eternal slumber, my family puts me here, surrounded by my own kind. Sleeping soundly in my underground shelter. Where am I?"

Jason cursed under his breath. He quickly stood up and sprinted to his bike. Riddler gave himself away in his broadcast but now he had confirmation.

When Jason arrived at Gotham Cemetery he threw his bike on the ground and marched right in shouting for Riddler and you.

"Dammit, Riddler! Where the hell is y/n!?!"

Riddler sighed as he jumped up from his spot. Looks like he'll have to settle with the angry boyfriend.

He leaned against a gravestone and grinned. He waved his henchmen over before pulling out a remote control from his pocket. "Little y/n is somewhere around here in the land of the living. But if you take another step closer she'll be joining the land of the dead."

Jason stopped and glared at him. "You fucking asshole," he growled. "What the hell has y/n done to you?"

Riddler shrugged. He had no reason to kidnap you other than that he was bored. He glanced down at his watch before quickly returning his attention to Jason. "Besides being a close friend of the Wayne's? Not much."

"But this little game of ours is not over yet," He chuckled while pushing himself off the gravestone. He sauntered over to Jason but stopped a couple of feet away from him. "You solved two riddles, which gave you forty minutes. It took you thirty minutes to get here. Now you have ten to find them."

Terror overtook Jason's face.

Ten minutes. He had ten minutes to find you or lose you.

Riddler laughed. Oh, the fun he was having watching someone you love suffer. He flipped the control in his hand before pushing a button. Static filled the air before it was replaced by whimpering and shallow breathing.

"Please!" you cried out. "Please let me out!"

If Jason clenched his fist any harder, his hand would've broken. It took all of his self-control to not up and break the Riddler's face. He glanced around the area looking for something that could help him but found nothing.

The cemetery looked normal. Nothing was out of place.

Riddler pressed another button and the sound died down. He chuckled as he walked around Jason towards the entrance. "I'll leave you to find your significant other."

-------
You smacked the roof of the box as hard as you could. You were scared and exhausted. Tears were running down your face. Your voice was hoarse from shouting for help. It didn't help that it was getting harder to breathe.

You wiped the tears off your face and kicked the box, managing to lift it up a little. Not believing what happened, you kicked the top again. Dirt trickled down inside. You sighed in relief and started coming up with a plan to get out until you heard some muffled shouting.

-------

By the time Jason found where Riddler buried you there were a couple minutes left.

It didn't take him long to unbury you, but it did take a while to calm him down.

"I swear to god when I get my hands on him."

"Jason calm down."

"No, he-"

"I know," you said pulling away from Jason's grasp. You cupped his face and wiped some tears away. "But right now, I could really go from some food and a shower. We can worry about the Riddler later."

Jason sighed before pulling you in for a quick kiss. "Fine, but after, I'm going to beat up his scrawny ass."

You just nodded knowing you wouldn't be able to convince him to let it go.
