"Fuck no."
"Evelyn..." Chance said cautiously from behind me.
"I'm not gonna listen to a bunch of fucking /traitors/." I hissed (Yeah, hissed. I'm bad.) at him. "You lied to me."
"It was only to get you here; you wouldn't have come otherwise." Chance pressed.
"Either way, you're both my enemies now. Good job. I'm not a great enemy to have." I growled, slinking like a cat to a nearby armchair. "Alright, I'm sitting. Now what do you want?"
Eira smiled half-heartedly; I could tell she was trying to put on a 'I-don't-care' façade, but it wasn't really working. That just comes naturally to some people, like me, and unnaturally to others, like her. It was my turn to smirk.

Yes, I am very, very lazy. Haven't uploaded anything for a while...Anyway, I hate this chapter >>
The next one will be better, since Evie is hardly in it, and there's some inappropriate shit there too xDDD

"Ah, Evelyn! How wonderful to finally meet you!" A voice came from what I assumed to be another door by the one I came in. A strikingly handsome figure sat across from me, making himself comfortable. He had professionally windswept dark brown hair, bright blue eyes that were almost strange to look at, and super-pale skin that reminded me of myself.
"And who are /you/?" I asked, my eyes narrowing further. "And what are you doing here?"
"My name is Kai. I'm a shape-shifter, like you. Well, except for the small difference that I turn into a bat and you turn into a wolf. As for what I'm doing here, your friends begged me to come." The guy said, looking dismissive, before turning to Eira and saying "I advise you don't contact me during my missions; a rather attractive she-elf is waiting for me back home, and I'd /really/ hate to keep her waiting."
"We had to, Kai." Eira said dismally, sitting on the opposite side of the couch from Kai. Chance sat down beside her, looking disapprovingly at Kai.
"No matter. It's legal business anyway." He said, moving his hand in a way that indicated it was end of discussion on that matter. "So. Evie. It turns out that before your mother disappeared, she neglected to tell the Court of your existence. And here I am now, because of that fault."
"The Court? What are they, some kind of fairy tale police? Give me a break. I don't need /another/ government knowing my every move." I said, not really liking this Kai person. He was just flat out annoying.
"Fairy tale police? Hardly. They just...peek in every now and then, see how you're doing. That sort of thing." He directed a cheery smile at me, and though his mouth was smiling, his eyes were unhappy.
"Sure," I said sarcastically. "And I suppose they don't have any laws."
"Now, they do have a few, but they don't really affect you, as you're...well, you're not the regular kind of lycan we get in these parts." Kai covered smoothly, smiling like a shark this time.
I cocked an eyebrow at him. "What do you mean, exactly?"
He leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees, his hands folded together. "Evie, you can't expect me to tell you now, here, in the presence of them." He jerked his head to Eira and Chance, who weren't exactly enjoying his company. "And the Court haven't even given me permission to do so."
"Yeah, whatever. I wasn't expecting you to tell me, I guess. So what do I have to do for you to leave me alone?"
"Simply pledge yourself to the Queen, simple as that." He smiled, about as friendly as a .
"You know, tempting as that offer is, I'll have to decline. I'm not pledging myself to some 'Queen' I don't know." I scowled at him hostilely, not liking the situation one bit.
"At least let me establish that you're not a threat." Kai groaned, sounding slightly annoyed.
"Oh, I'm always a threat. I could accidentally chop your queen's head off or something." I smiled suddenly, liking the mental image.
"Of course you will." Kai rolled his eyes. "But for the time being, you'll stay in this realm. Just say your not an enemy, and I'll be on my way."
"Really? You'll just go? I doubt it. Fine, I'm not an /imminent/ threat, but that doesn't mean we get to be BFFs or some shit." I said, eyeing Kai critically.
"Okay then, I guess I'll go. Like I said, I got someone waiting for me..." He got up suddenly, and strolled over to the door. As he opened it, he glanced back melodramatically, and murmured those three over-used words; "I'll be back." I rolled my eyes this time, and then scowled when I saw the smile on his face. Jerk.
