Brandy's POV

2001

"What do you mean? Why do I have to leave? Was I bad?" I ask Liv, the lady whose house I had been staying in.

"I don't know sweetie, I really wish you didn't have to leave. You are an amazing little girl." She says with tears clouding her vision. "Just promise you won't forget me, Please." She pleads.

"I promise, how could I forget about you? You are my best-est friend in the whole world." I say to her.

She smiles and laughs at the same time she sobs. She pulls me into a massive hug. "You better not go live somewhere you will forget about me. Do you hear me?" I nod.

"I promise Livy. I promise." And as I said that sentence she started to go and pick things up and put them in my suitcase.

*************

"I'll really miss you baby girl." Livy said just as we were nearing the gates at the airport. Livy is basically my momma.

"'gon miss you too Livy." I say with fat tears rolling down my cheeks. "Tell Pasco I will miss him too?"

She pulls me into a bone crushing hug. She only lets go of me when the plane number was called. She remembered it so I didn't have to. She gives me one last kiss on my head.

She pushes me toward the tunnel leading to the plane. "Go on. Go meet your new home."

Once close enough to the tunnel, I looked back to see her crying. The person behind me shoved me so I would enter the tunnel. I waved back at Livy. She has a small smile on her face now.

*******

The plane is quite scary, it makes these noises that terrify me. I am sitting in a seat that is beside the window. I am not tall enough to reach the shade thingy that I seen the lady three rows ahead of me do.

I am sitting here strapped in because I don't know how to work this stupid thing. The man sitting on the outside of the seat is in a black suit with a shiny thing in his belt. He also has a bump in his chest and he looks very scary. I won't ask him. I look at the man siting in the middle, he is sleeping but he looks very familiar and he has his head on the scary guys shoulder. He has brown shiny hair and a scratchy beard, he is wearing a regular pair of Jeans and has a tee-shirt on, he looks very nice. He looks like he would pull the shade down.

I poke him. He moves a little and swats at my hand. I poke him again, this time he shifts and the guy on the other side shuffles a little bit pulling his head off the guys shoulder.

"Mister." I call as I poke him again. He pulls his head up a little and I can see his nose and eyes. He opens his eyes and I see they are hazel. He looks around confused.

"Mister." I call out again. He looks down and his confused look turns to one of a happy expression.

"Yeah Kid?" He questions in a heavy Australian accent, stronger than the one I had earned while living there for 3 years.

"Can you please pull the paper thingy down, mister?" I ask him. He nods.

"Sure kid," He pulls the shade down. Then notices how I visibly relax. "Afraid of flying kid?" I nod.

"Yes sir." I say. He frowns.

"Where's your Mom and Dad?" He questions seriously and looks around.

"I, I don't have any sir." I say. He looks back at me with a deeper frown.

"Well then, where are you off to?"

"Someplace called Badferd. It's where I'm gonna live from now on." I say.
