49. Blank Space

"Tita August." Usal naman nito. "I'm sowwy, I was playing." Sagot nito sa akin kahit wala naman akong tinatanong.

"Oh I see, but be careful okay?" Sagot ko naman rito at nginitian ko ito.

Minsan ko lang ito nakikita dito sa palasyo dahil sa lawak. Either nasa school kasi ito o kaya naman natutulog or naglalaro. And this palace is as huge as a town. Ang hirap magkita-kita ng mga tao rito.

"Okay, but can I go wee you?" Tanong nito sa akin. While looking at her, I find her very adorable. If I have a kid, kamukha kaya niya? But that would be impossible because it will depends with the genes yun.

Okay lang ba na isama ko siya? Wala naman siguro masama dahil magtatanong lang naman ako.

"Sure Emerald." Sagot ko rito at bumadha naman sa mukha nito ang kasiyahan at bumitiw na ito sa binti ko pero hinawakan naman ang kamay ko.

"Whee awe you going?" Tanong naman ni Emerald sa akin. She's quite thoughtful for a kid somehow.

"Hmm.. I'm going to see the king and queen. So we better behave okay?" Sagot ko naman rito.

"Okay." Sagot naman nito sa akin in a childish tone.

Tinalunton namin ang pasilyo until we reached the door where the queen is residing. Dito din tumatanggap ng bisita ang reyna.

"How can we help you Lady August?" Tanong sa akin ng isang gwardia sa pinto.

I can sense that it is their duty to ask so I answer them right away with the thing that I need.

"I need to talk to the queen." Sagot ko rito. Hindi ko alam kung papapasukin ba nila ako kaagad o hindi.

"Have your way, Lady August." Sagot naman nito at binuksan na nito ang pintuan.

Oh, that was fast. I thought they are going to tell me to come back later because the queen is busy. I have this impression that royalties are busy because they have high responsibility, so that was a surprise to me.

"Thank you." Sagot ko rito at pumasok na kami ni Emerald sa loob.

I can see the red carpeted floor and beige color walls. Pero agad naman na dumako ang tingin ko sa isang magarang desk na gawa sa solidong metal and the queen there was watching us while smiling. Somehow, her smile reduced the intimidating feeling that I felt right now. I can't help it since I am facing the queen on my own and having emerald on my side doesn't help at all.

"August dear, I wasn't able to see you since the attack... I'm sorry, we do have a tight schedule and I can't leave the office." Saad nito at tsaka tumayo naman at iminuwestra ang upuan na nasa harap.

Agad akong tumalima at tinapunan ko ng tingin ang dalawang kawal na nasa likuran nito. Yumukod muna kami ni Emerald bago ako sumagot.

"Greeting your highness. We apologized for interrupting you from your work.... but I just wanted to ask something..." saad ko rito.

Hindi na ako umupo si Emerald na lang ang pinaupo ko doon at nginitian naman ito ng reyna, though she did not talk to her.

"Okay what is it?" Tanong ni Queen Ruth sa akin and curiosity is written on her face.

"I wanted to ask about C-cayden... I haven't seen him for a while now." Sagot ko dito na nabulol pa talaga ako ng sinambit ko ang pangalan ni Cayden.

"Oh.... I'm sorry I thought you knew..." saad nito at napatakip pa ito sa bibig like she was showing how sorry she was. "Cayden right now is in Kimera... he needs to perform his task there. We expected that he will be in Kimera for almost a week." Sagot naman nito sa akin. "I am really sorry dear, we thought you knew."
