Chapter 105. Just Once

"I had enough thinking for myself. I had enough of my selfishness. It's time for me to think about others before mine." It took them aback when I said that, they were stunned and that made them unclasp their grasps from me.

I freely stand up without no one insisting for me to lay back on the hospital bed. I walk out of my private room, bringing the dextrose along with me.

As soon as I arrive in Taeyeon's ward, I found some of the guys watching some cartoons. As they have notice my presence, they all run to my rescue to assist me or so. "Baekhyun, why are you here? You should be lying on your bed right now!" Chanyeol worriedly said as I motion them my palm.

"Could you guys.. leave Taeyeon and I for a moment?" I kindly ask as they exchange glances together. "S-sure. A-alright." Hence, they close the door behind me leaving me in silence along with the peacefully sleeping Taeyeon.

I walk towards her and sat right next to her. A smile is slowly forming on my lips to see her calm face once again after a very long time. "I have long for your presence. I regretted everything what I did to you. I was rude, I was harsh, I was not good enough for you that I didn't even treated you like the way you deserve it should be."

I can feel a hot liquid just escape from my right eye as I caress her hand, "A-and now.. it seems like I will no longer see you smiling at me again, for I know that you will hate me because of what I did. I should be the one who's suffering and not you, you don't deserve this, Taeyeon-ah."

A bitter smile filled my face, "If you were to see me right now, I think you will laugh your heart out. You would tell me that I'm acting like a gay." I chuckle for a bit.

"Seeing you lying on the bed, makes me weak somehow. I was so lost and blinded by hatred, fear, and revenge and that were the reasons why I treated you rudely."

"You stole what was left in my heart, you filled the emptiness in me as you brighten up my dark and lonely world. And now I am missing your smiles and your clumsiness. Not a day shall pass that I don't miss you."

"I swear, no harm will come to you again as long as I am by your side."

I smile again while caressing her hand. "Wake up now, Taeyeon."

And just what I thought, it made me immediately look down when I felt her hand move for a bit.

My eyes widen in shock as I look at her and her hand that I'm holding right now is continuously moving.

"T-taeyeon.." As I said her name, her eyes slowly opens that made me let out a small gasp. "T-taeyeon.. Taeyeon, d-do you hear me?" Her eyes are straight forward and it is still weak as what I can see.

I lean myself towards her, "T-taeyeon.." I called her name again and by this time, her eyes slowly look onto my direction. I smiled with my tears continuously flowing from my eyes, a tears that are filled with happiness to see her open her eyes again.

She remained staring at me with her weak eyes. "W-wait here. I'll just call the doctor." As I'm about to go to call for a doctor, I felt a hand just held my hand that stop me from my tracks.

I slowly look back to find her still looking up at me. I look down to my hand that she's currently holding and gaze back to her. She couldn't say anything behind those surgical mask but all I know is, her eyes are telling me something that I cannot process for the meantime. Her eyes are telling me some longingness.

I was stunned when a drop of tear fall from her right eye with her attention not getting off of me. For once, we have this peaceful connection. Just for once.
