Chapter 105. Just Once

I realized that I've been standing in front of her like a stupid statue so I went to her side and sat down. I raise the bowl of porridge to continue the task of Sunny, feeding AhRee.

"Jin.. w-what a pleasant surprise. I-it's your first time to visit me here." She awkwardly started a conversation as I also cannot deny the fact that we're both having an awkward situation. I remain silent and offered a spoonful of porridge in front of her mouth. She raises her brows at me as if she's currently asking me of what am I doing right now, however, I ignored that look.

She have nothing to do but to open her mouth and accept the offer that I gave her. "You should be famished." Jin spoke without any cheerfulness on the tone of his voice.

AhRee gulps the food while staring down to Jin who's now lending her a glass of water. Anyhow, she accepted it and gulps a small amount of water to her dry throat.

"Jin I.. I-I know that I made too many mistakes. Knowing the fact that you have much concern to Taeyeon-my sister." She started as I put down the bowl of porridge on the table beside her bed.

I look straight into her eyes. Her eyes are currently telling me some different story, she's begging for mercy, she's begging for an apology. "I-I'm so sorry for putting her up into this kind of situation. B-because of me.. this happened. I-If I didn't came into you and the others' life, then.. none of this happened. None of this will happen towards my sister. I-I'm so sorry because I-I didn't got the chance to save her myself. N-now.. she's suffering between life and death. I-I know that you love her.. you can blame me, but I am asking for an apology, Jin. P-please forgive me. I-I don't want this to happen. I wish.. I wish that I was the one that is on my eonni's positio-" I cut her off by shushing her down.

I pulled her towards me as I wrap my arms around her. She's currently crying and I don't want to hear any further apologies from her. I hate to see women cry, and it weakens me, it clutches my heart somehow that it gives me difficulty to breath.

AhRee relaxes herself as I can feel her hot tears wetting my chest. "Don't blame yourself. No one of us could be blamed. Everything will be okay. Your sister will wake up sooner or later. It's not your fault believe me. Your bravery to save your own sister was enough to prove her that you love her. She knows that you love her, AhRee. I know that she will never give up because she wants to see you again and your mother, she wants to catch up a quality time together with the two of you. Now don't say that as if you did all of this. Believe me, it's not your fault." I tried my best to comfort her while I'm softly tapping her back to calm her down.

It took for a moment for AhRee to finally calm down as I heard her let out a heavy sigh. She's clutching my chest with her small cute hand and it somehow makes me smile for an unknown reason. "Thank you, Jin." She muttered as I look down to her.

Her head is still resting on my chest, her eyes are close and a smile is currently curved on her lips. We stayed like this for awhile without no one interrupting us.

From that moment, I did not know that this girl would mean so much to me in my life.

4 days passed, Baekhyun's POV

"I have to go! I have to see Taeyeon!" I tried to rose and stand from my bed but the members blocked me, "You have to stay on the bed, Baekhyun. You're still not well and you don't have strength to at least stand up." Xiumin hyung insisted as he tried-no, force me to lay on the bed.

"I'm not weak anymore! I feel much better now! I really need to see her this instant!" I yelp but they are too hard-headed enough that they did not give in, "The doctor said that you must rest well, Baekhyun! Taeyeon is already fine! You must think of yourself even just once." Kai said by this time and that made me look at him.
