Pickwings(Wings of Fire)

  Fanwing tribe! This tribe was actually inspired by a tribe name @Onewhisker came up with in their Wings of Fire Ideas book(Go check it out! It's really helpful). They had a section for fanwing names and I saw 'smallwings' and thought a tribe with that name would be cute!(name changed though lol)

Main-

Name: Pickwing

Name Reasoning: Technically there are two reasons.

1) The Pyrrhia reason is that when discovered it was obvious the tiny dragons loved picking up(or stealing) things. (See history for more detail)

2) The personal reason is while thinking about these cute little dragons I started imagining them adapting to live with all seven tribes. So I was reminded of one of my favorite childhood games: Pikman! I added a 'c' to make it less obvious and so it made more literal sense and boom! Their name was born.

  History:  It was a little concerning at first. Belongings and fruits just up and disappearing(or moving). The rainwings assumed it was monkeys or birds but once a Pickwing got daring and tried to take something from a dragon... while they were there. The dragon was incredibly concerned at first and it didn't help that the tiny creature suddenly disappeared when they made eye contact. Long story short, the dragon left out things to observe the little scavenger sized dragon and eventually showed the rest of the tribe. At first it was assumed to be one of a kind but as Rainwings started looking harder they saw them more often. Rainwings started to capture and domesticate the small dragons and it worked. The tiny dragons knew the language the dragons spoke and although they could only make gargles and squeaks they could listen. So that's what they did. In exchange for shelter, food, and affection the little Pickwings worked for the Rainwings as pets of sort. Eventually with the Rainwings growing back bones and the Nightwings entering the rain forest the unknown tribe became well know. Some dragons took some Pickwings from the rain forest and next thing the seven tribes know the little dragons are flourishing all around the continent.

Queen: None actually! A sort of 'everyone for themselves' tribe. They sometimes stay with their family but some live by themselves or with a dragon of the seven tribes.

Life Style/Society-

Picking: The species pick for multiple reasons. They steal food for the obvious reason of eating and feeding their family or small pack if they have one. They steal belongings for the simple reason of they look neat. They do it for fun and sometimes don't even steal belongings. Just move them to a new location in the dragons home.

Landscape/origin: Can be found anywhere but they originate in the rain-forest. It's unclear to the seven tribes why the little reptiles exist or evolved the way they did but rarely question it. It was a slow process but they are indeed the descendants of geckos that learned the way to excel was to mimic dragons.

Housing: When 'in the wild' they live in trees, caves, and even abandoned scavenger villages if they can find them! When working for/living among the seven tribes they either find little nooks in their homing or create their own little homes/beds in the open living space.

Dynamics: The tribe lives for themselves and sometimes their families. Despite fighting best in packs they are rarely found in packs. They aren't an anti-social species they simply think it's easier to stay hidden when few in numbers.

Dragnets: Before domestication this kinds young usually hatched with one or both their parents present. Their parents taught them how to use their abilities effectively and warned them of the seven tribes and other predators. If a dragnet hatched away from their parents they were either eaten at a young age(despite being poisonous) or they learned how to fend for themselves. Pickwings that fended for themselves often don't find significant others and don't start families as they are used to isolation more then socialization. After domestication dragnets were always either with a parent or with their new owner. When hatched with their parents it was the same as pre-domestication but when raised by a dragon of the seven tribes their usually more docile around the seven tribes(unless there are special cases of neglect or something).

Naming: Since the seven tribes can't understand the squeaks of the Pickwings they name them themselves when they own them. Naming them after cute and small things(Pedal, Button, snowflake, etc)! Of course some dragons name them after other 'tougher' things but cute names are most common.

Abilities-

Main Abilities: Strength, Keen senses, Scaleshifting, Adaptation, Changing scale texture, and Remarkable climbers

Hidden abilitie(s): Poisonous(when eaten) 

Uncommon/Rare Abilities: Loosing their tail when needed (the ability is being lost over time), and elemental powers(fire breathing, ice breathing, etc) depending on their location (honestly just imagine Pikman without a plant growing from their head)

Description-

Colors: Depends on where they live. Can honestly be any color of the rainbow seeing as they have scaleshifting for camouflage reasons. Their eggs camouflage to the background and when they hatch they are matching their surroundings(for survival reasons).

Patterns/Scales: When not shifting the patterns on their bodies reflect that of a geckos or no pattern at all. Their scales shift like a Rainwing's and they can even change the texture like an octopus for an amount of time! When not changing the texture their scales are usually bumpy or adapted to their environment.

Size: They are around scavenger sized and can usually be held in the palm of a full grown dragons talon.

Appendages: They have normal dragon appendages(Horns, wings, claws and a tail) but little else. They are quite simple. They resemble that of a gecko with wings, horns, and tougher scales. Their horns are straight(best compared to Nightwing's), their wings are simple but functioning(best compared to Seawing's), and their tails look like that of a geckos(Rainwings believe they evolved from geckos)!

Facts-

Diet: omnivores

Behavior: Docile, Stealthy, mischievous, and/or energetic

Alliance(s): All tribes. They work for any dragon in any tribe and usually stay out of fighting. They fight in packs if ever and when owned they aren't often in big groups.

Past: They use to believe in staying completely hidden. That's where their camouflage came in. They believed the seven tribes were just more predators and made sure to pick from them in secret .

Present: After being discovered and domesticated however, they came to love the attention of the seven tribes. Some of the species still believe in remaining hidden and live away from the seven tribes, they are keen at stealth and are usually the Pickwings that can still loose and regrow their tail.

Extra- 

Status: Open(?) Idk if I need to say this but it's obvious I'm not the first person to make a WoF species like this. I won't get all salty or aggressive if I see someone draw an oc that resembles a Pickwing but I thought I should state it's an open species anyway!
