Kara wakes up in the middle of the night to a loud knocking of her loft door. She pretends to ignore it and hopes that the person would just leave. But after two minutes, she realizes that this person is too determined and gets out of bed. She angrily swings open the door and is about to give the person a piece of her mind until she sees a baby carrier on one hand and a sleepy toddler holding the other.

"Kara Danvers? My name is Samantha Arias I'm a-"

"I know who you are, come in." Kara sighs. She opens the door wider allowing them to come in and offers her a drink. Sam nods to a glass of water and lightly rocks the baby, hoping she would stay quiet.

"She seems exhausted she can sleep spare bedroom if you'd like?" Kara asks, looking down at Ruby.

"Oh that would be great thank you."

Kara looks over at the sleepy child and instantly bends down to her height, giving her the biggest smile she could.

"Hi sweetheart what's your name?"

"Ruby."

"Hi Ruby. Looks like someone is a little tired and needs a Goodnights sleep, how about I take you to sleep while I talk to your Mommy for a bit?"

Ruby looks over at her mom for a search of approval and climbs into the woman's arms. Maybe she won't react so bad to this Sam thinks to herself, watching her interact with Ruby. Kara lifts her up and walks down the hallway, setting her into bed.

"You look like someone I see before." The child whispers.

"Yeah? Who do you think I am?"

"Auntie Lena has a girlfriend named Kara. I've seen pictures of her and Auntie Lena on her phone. Is that you?" Kara swallows hard as she takes a seat at the end of the bed and puts on a slight smile.

"Yes that is me."

"She was right, you are super pretty."

"Thank you sweetheart, but you know that we aren't together anymore right?"

"I know. Auntie Lena is very sad. She cries a lot and I don't like it when she's sad."

Kara did the best she could to fight back the tears that was welling up in her eyes. She hated it whenever Lena cried. She wishes things could be different, to hold her and be with her instead having her of cry all alone.

"I don't either. Now why don't you get some sleep."

"Okay. Night Night."

She turns on the lamp and tucks the child in, whispering a goodnight before closing the door and walking back out to Sam.

"Your daughter is quite a talker." Kara chuckles.

"Oh no did she say something weird? Did she bring up your relationship? I'm so sorry."

"Don't be. I didn't mean it as a negative thing. She's a sweetheart for caring so much about Lena." Kara explains. "So Samantha what brings you to my apartment at 3:00 AM with two children?" She hands Kara a letter and tells her to read it, that it'd explain it all.

Kara,

First off I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I'm sorry for ending things with you the way I did, I'm sorry for not telling you, I'm sorry for suddenness of all of this. I just didn't know what to do. And this of course does not justify my  actions, I know what I did and didn't do were due to my lack of courage. But now it's different, this in itself took all the courage I had in me.  On June 18, 2015 at 10:32 PM, Maia Noelle Danvers was born. Maia after your father, Jeremiah and Noelle after our place.
