The Town

"Blah blah blah" is all I could hear sitting in my boring old classroom with my boring old classmates and my boring old pencils. There I sit picking at whatever is under my class desk (I don't think I really want to know what it is) because there is nothing better to do. Most kids would usually be really excited to go home and play video games and hang out with their siblings after a long and very boring day at school. But for me this was not the case.

This town never brought anything exciting to look forward to. The only adventures in this town was the amazing stack of books in my room. So every day at school while everyone was talking with their friends I would be reading or thinking about what I will read. When I get home I go straight to my room and read until about midnight. The only way I can get away with this is because of my older sister Lola, who is very beautiful with light wavy auburn hair, freckles, and beautiful brown eyes. Let me tell you she loves to be the center of attention at all times. If Lola is not the center of attention she will get really upset and act like a two-year-old when she is actually 18. So the...

"Sabrina, what is the answer?" Said Mr. Blue my teacher with the very monotoned voice.

"I am sorry I did not hear what you said," I said very embarrassed as every head in the classroom turned and stared at me.

"Please pay attention next time." He said clearly getting a little annoyed.

"Ok, I am sorry I won't do it again," I said as quickly as I could just so everyone would just go back to minding their own business.

Three hours later class finally ended. I was the first one out of the class. I was so happy to get out of there so I could hide in my room and curl up in my pink fuzzy blanket and grab a good book. Luckily it was a Friday so I did not have to go to class tomorrow and maybe everyone will just forget about how the good kid got caught not paying attention in class.

When I got on the bus I found a seat and put my stuff next to me so hopefully, people would get the hint that I wanted to sit alone.

The last people were getting on the bus and I thought that my plan worked and I could ride home in peace. But nothing likes to go my way. Someone tapped me on the shoulder and I turned around.

"Hi, Sabrina! There are no other seats so do you mind if I sit next to you?" Said Josh the guy who was always up in everyone's business or so I have heard. And yes I did mind because I wanted to sit alone but I did not want to be rude.

"Uuummmm sure I guess."

"Ok cool. Thanks," He said politely. I always overhear people talking about how rude he is but I think he is quite nice.

As I move my stuff I grab my book out of my bag and hope he will realize that I don't want to talk and I am busy reading. But clearly, he did not get the memo and started asking me questions.

"So you like reading?"

"Yeah," I said hoping that giving him a short answer will make him realize I don't want to talk.

"What is your favorite book?"

"I am not sure," I said not sure how many more questions I could handle. Luckily my bus stop was coming up and then I could leave.

"Do you go to the library a lot?"

"Yeah," Oh my gosh I hate answering this many questions in one day let alone five minutes. Maybe if I look out the window he will get the hint.

"Do you like fairy tales?"

Nope...

He did not get the hint.

"Yeah, they are my favorite," I said hoping the longer answer would satisfy him.

Finally, my stop is here. How long has it been? One hour? One day? Three weeks? I look at my watch. Nope, only twelve minutes.

"It is my stop can I get off?" I said to Josh.

"Oh yeah for sure."

I stood up and awkwardly tried to get past Josh.

"Thank you," I said.

"I hope to see you soon! Have fun reading!"

On that note, I exited the bus before any more conversation comes up.

As I walked from the bus stop to my house I realized that Josh is not that bad of a guy after all. He is actually quite nice.
