A massive cliché - Virgil & Roman & Logan & Patton

Start from the beginning

"It is quite alright" Logan murmured, finding himself and pulling back. "I am Logan" he greeted, "you must be the new kid" the boy nodded happily, "Yep! Patton!" He politely spoke back, bending down to pick up their books. "Here, let me help" Logan offered and bent down, too, but they both reached for the same book, their hands brushing. Their eyes met again, blushes rising on both of their cheeks.

"Sorry" Patton giggled sheepishly, handing his books over and standing up. "See you around?"

"Y-yes" Logan swallowed, "have a nice day"

"You too!" Patton waved and skipped away, leaving Logan pressing a hand over his beating heart.

Logan parted from the hallway going the opposite way, but the space wasn't abandoned for too long. Roman found himself humming a tune while gliding across the marble floor, turning a corner only to be stopped in his tracks when someone else, smaller than he, crashed into his chest. With the sudden force and shock of it all, he fell to the ground, along with whoever bumped into him, gasping in shock.

"Fuck" the kid muttered, sitting up and rubbing their elbow. "Shit, sorry, you alright?" They asked Roman who sat up, too, eyes clenched shut as he willed away the dull throb. "Peachy" they replied, shuffling forward to get a better stance to stand, the new kid doing the same, only for their faces to suddenly become inches apart. Their eyes met and the world around them froze.

Until the new kid broke the silence.

"What the fuck are you doing?"

Roman jumped back in alarm, "What am I doing?" He repeated, "What are you doing? Why are you staring at me? Ugh! This is your fault! Maybe if you watched where you were going" Roman dramatised, standing up and grabbing his shit. "Well, sorry" new kid exaggerated, grabbing his books he hadn't put away yet, too. "But fuck you, it's your fault, too" they retaliated, but before Roman could respond their hands landed on top of each other as they tried to pick up the same book. Once again, their eyes met, and their surroundings misted to black.

"You're doing it again" Roman gritted, snatching his book and standing up straight. "Ugh! New kids" he cried in disdain, walking away down the hall in a flurry. The new kid - or, Virgil - rolled his eyes and scoffed. "Fucking drama queen" He muttered, walking down the other way to Roman.

Later that morning, Patton worriedly headed down the hall, gripping the map tightly in his hands. He had no idea where he was going, due to being new, and couldn't exactly ask anyone, as they were all already in their class. Although, his prayers were answered when he heard laughter from down the hall. Hurrying down, he turned to see a group of older boys leaning against the walls, laughing about something Patton didn't catch. After gazing at them, he realised these were the bad kids, and he probably shouldn't be involved with them. Trying to turn and dash away was harder than he thought, for when he tried, they all called and said 'hey look, the new kid!'

He wanted to run but a hand was on his shoulder, whipping him around and slamming him into the locker. He winced, dropping the map, hands quivering as he met the bullies eyesight. He looked sinister. "Why aren't you in class, new kid? Lost?" They taunted, surrounding him so he had no escape. "I-I-please let me go" he begged, which only made them laugh and mock him further.

"I advise you do let him go, otherwise the consequences will be severe" A monotone voice sounded behind the teens. They all turned their heads to see the nerd of the school - Logan - standing there, adjusting his glasses and holding a rather thick book in his arms. "What're you gonna do? Bore us to death?" The boys laughed, all the while Logan sighed.

"I suppose you asked for it" he suddenly gripped the book in his hands and swung it across the main bullies face, sending him spiralling to the ground. He jelly-legged the second bully, smacking the back of his head, too, and the third backed away, giving Logan time to grab Patton's hand and run down the hallway with him, entering a classroom before they could chase after them.
