In another world; ch 2

"I gotta go, love you sis." I said to Chasity. She grinned back, and said, "Love you too, bye bye!" She skipped off to her boyfriend, and I rolled my eyes. I stuffed my books in my bag, and walked to class. By the time I walked in, class had started. "Ms. Hope. you're late. Detention after school." I heard Ryan laugh. "Shut the hell up!" I scolded him while I sat down. He shrugged, and kept chuckling. I rested my chin on the desk, hoping to get some rest by tonight. I oversleep, it's over for me. I don't get enough sleep- well, let's just say I get a bit cranky...

"Follow me..." A voice said. I was in the woods. I looked up to the night sky, to see an eclipse coming into place. I saw a figure pacing back and fourth. "Follow me, master become mad if human no obey." I squinted hard, trying to see what was moving. "Excuse me?" I whispered. I heard a low growl. I looked around. I recognized this part of the woods. This was behind my house. I could see my father in the window, drinking a cup of coffee. "Who are you?" I asked, and got no reply. Now, I couldn't see anything; not like i could see something in the first place. Without even noticing, I walked towards the creature. His eyes were closed, and he appeared to be... A wolf. A coyote? No, couldn't be. A wolf, indeed, a talking wolf. "No," The voice said. "I cannot speak. You hear my thoughts." I walked closer, face to face with the beast. I cupped his face into my hands. And within seconds, their eyes opened. A yellow-ish green color stood before me.

I gasped for air. I looked around, and saw Ryan staring at me, like I was crazy. "What the hell?" He whispered. I was sweating, and I felt dizzy. My head slammed into the desk, and I heard whispering. What was happening? "Dude, what is up with you today?" Ryan asked, while shaking my arm. I pulled it back quickly, as if he poisoned me. He looked confused, but I stood saying, "Can I go to the nurse?" The teacher nod his head, and said, "Make sure you come-" I already ran out the class room.

Walking down the hallways, it was quiet. Way, too quiet. I sighed, and felt my arms burning. I quickly ripped off my jacket, and threw it to the ground, rubbing my arms. "Holy shit," I mumbled. I touched my arm. It was burning hot. I winced in pain, now in a dash to the nurse's office. "Nurse Mary," I said, running into the nurse's office. I've been here a few times, and I even learned some things about the poor woman. "Something's wrong with me." I paced back and forth. The nurse walked to my side, and put her hand on my forehead. "Ouch," She screeched. "Your forehead is burning!" I lifted my hand to my forehead. "Ow!" I squealed. She touched my arms. Then, she stared up to me. "You.." She whispered, backing up. "Nurse Mary, what's happening?" She bumped into her desk. "People, they're.. changing. They're gaining something, like, like, like," She kept stuttering. "A power, or something." I stared at her confused. "Excuse me?" I said, laughing at her. I tried to play it off. Maybe she would laugh, too. Of course, I knew about the powers. I just didn't know, that other people got them, too. "Don't laugh at me!" She barked back. I lifted my hands in defeat. "Sorry." She nodded, and lifted a finger to her chin. "You've been the fourth person to come in today. I don't know, it was a, a, a," She stuttered again. "A guy, and two girls." I nodded, leaning against the wall. "What do you mean?" I asked her. She looked at me, in the eyes. "Answer me, honestly, and nothing but the truth." I stood up from off the wall, and nodded, moving my hand to my chin. "Have you been noticing something weird about your body?" I bit my lip. "Well," I hesitated. I couldn't speak. I looked to the left, and nodded my head. "What can you do?" Nurse Mary asked slowly. "You," I shook my head. "You don't want to know." She now shook her head. "Show me. I'll tell you what the other kids could do." I sighed. "Get a bucket filled with water." I said simply. She nodded, and went off to fetch whatever she could find.

"Okay, watch carefully," I started. "Cause, I'm damn sure not gonna do this a second time." We were outside, a bit further away from the school. So nobody would be able to see us. "Ready?" I asked her. Nurse Mary just nodded. I bit my lip nervously, feeling blood trickle down painfully. "Concentrate," I said, over and over again. Before I knew it, orange shades of fire burst out of my hands and into the bucket. Then, the bucket began to smoke. "How?" Nurse Mary asked. "How can you do this?" I shrugged, and leaned against a tree. "I told you, now you tell me." Mary looked around. "Okay, the boy, I don't know his name. But, he can read minds. He's also fast as hell." She paused. "One girl, she, you know, can lift things, move things. Defy gravity, things like that. And the last girl, she heals people. She put a cut on her arm, touched it, and moments later, it disappeared, as if it was never there. I think there's more kids, they just haven't found out they have powers like that." I nodded, and said, "We should get back to school, before anyone notices we're missing." Nurse nodded, and walked off. I pulled her back by her shoulder and asked her quietly, "Are there wolves around here?" She looked around. "At first, it was a very little population of them. But now, it's growing. I don't know how." I nodded, and walked off, trying not to remember what the hell happened in that dream I had.
