Sophie and Fitz fidgeted uncomfortably, waiting for the Demigods' response.
"Elves?" Leo laughed. "This is a prank, right? Bet Connor and Travis had this all planned out! Ha!"
He flinched when no one laughed. "Right?" He repeated timidly.
"There's...no such thing as elves."
It wasn't like Leo didn't believe them, he saw them in action all right. It was because he didn't want to believe it. His mind couldn't process it. Out of all the strange things that Leo had witnessed, this took the cake.
Reyna sighed. "I...don't think they're lying. They're...telling the truth."
"But elves don't exist," Leo insisted, but he sounded more like he wanted to convince himself.
"Tell that to the one standing in front of you." Fitz smirked.
Charged silence followed.
"Okay, if elves really are real, are they like, the ones at the North Pole or...?" Percy asked, breaking the tension, but trailed off when Annabeth shot him a death glare that seemed to say, definitely NOT.
"You sound like Sophie when I first met her." Fitz smiled.
Sophie rolled her eyes. "Well...at that time I thought elves worked in the North Pole, not living in glittering mansions!"
"So you don't make toys?" Percy asked.
"No." Keefe said. "We help an organization track down the bad organization and take them down."
"Huh. You sound like Superhero's. Like, super hero elves." Percy said.
"In a way, we are," Sophie admitted. "But let's not talk about that."
"First things first, why are you here?" Annabeth and Reyna asked.
"We heard there was an Everblaze emergency, so we light leaped here." Biana said.
"I have two questions. 1) what is Everblaze? 2) LIGHT LEAPED?!? What do you mean?" Annabeth asked, confused.
"To answer your question, Everblaze was the yellow fire just now. And light leaping means breaking our body into small particles and letting the light carry us to the place we need to go. It's our main matter of transport." Dex replied.
"Can you die light leaping?" Jason asked, horrified when all the elves nodded. "Happens very little times. You die only when another light shines into the light you're in, and so some your body particles will be distracted and go to the other beam of light, and will make you lose your concentration, letting you die. It's called, 'Fading.'" Sophie explained.
"Why do you sound so calm when you could die?!" Frank freaked out.
"Like, we said, happens very little times." Tam said irritably. "And we wear nexuses, which allows a force field to be wrapped around our body particles, so none will get lost."
"Okay." Annabeth said, struggling to squish the piece of information into her going-to-explode brain. Percy and the other Demigods were doing so too.
