Sadeeq

I woke up after a short night, since I slept after two, I think.

I got off the bed and made my way to the bathroom and brushed my teeth then performed ablution. Afterwards, I left my room and made my way to the Masjid (mosque).

After praying, I saw that the time was 5:40a.m. so I carried a Qur'an from the shelf and read Suratul Muhammad.

I love that Surah. I almost fell asleep after reading then I realised today was a school today.

I got up and kept the Qur'an back on the shelf then I greeted a few people that were around.

I went back home and had a shower then got ready for school.

"Good morning mommy." I greeted as I walked into the kitchen.

She hugged me and gave me a plate of waffles. My faveee.

I calmly ate my waffles and washed it down wirh coffee.

"That's enough time to go to school. Mufeedah is kinda sick today so she's not going to school."

"Alright, mummy." I hugged and pecked her then left the house.

I made my way to the garage and got into the car. Mr. Michael started the car when I got in.

As we drove out of the house, I thought of what to say to Amra.

I want to do with you what spring does with the cherry trees. That's okay yeah?? Noo it's cheesy.

How about  Oh plunge me deep in love — put out my senses, leave me deaf and blind, swept by the tempest of your love, a taper in a rushing wind. Oh no. That sounds like a Shakespeare-ish kinda thing.

Damnn. I have never been this shy of a girl.

"Sadeeq, we have arrived." I heard him say then I hurriedly got out of the car and made my way to class.

I got into the class and sat down. I brought a pen and book out then started to write her a poem.

Mystery Man

You saw a man
In a hoodie he hid
Silhouetted he was
Bumping into a man
All you saw was darkness
Reminding you of a phone call
That has been long forgotten
A charming voice he had
You never saw him again for he was
Your mystery man
And today
He shall reveal himself
For you.

(Author: P.S. this poem is actually mine so no copying.)

I finished writing the poem and kept it in my bag.

Then, our dearest English Teacher came into the class.

During English Class

"S.K., it's not long tennis. It's lawn tennis." The teacher Mr. Francis argued.

By the way, S.K is short for Salim Kaoje.

"No, sir. It's long tennis."

"Sadeeq!" Mr. Francis called.

"Sir?"

"Please, go to SS3 in the Coed block and call Amra Ibrahim Yakubu." Right there and then happiness overcame me and I started smiling like a teenager in love. What am i saying?? I am a teenager.

"Yes sir." I carried the paper with the poem and put it in my pocket as I made my way out of the class.

I got to Amra's class. Well, seems like they were free. The moment I stepped into the class, they all went mute.

"Uhm, who's Amra?"

"That's me."

"Mr. Francis is calling you."

"Where's he?"

"Boys' block."

"Females aren't allowed there. It's called boys' for a reason."

"Sassy much?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Cocky much?" She asked back.

"I'm not cocky."

"You are."

"Not."

"Are."

"Not."

"Are."

"Nottttt."

"Areeee."

"I am not."

"You are."

"Ughh. Arguing with you is pointless."

"I've heard that before. Spongebob?"

"Whaaat? You high? Let's go he's waiting."

Well, she's so stubborn. She refused to move so I picked her up and slung her over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

"Ameer, have you nothing to say?" Amra asked.

"No. Go away. Shooo. Cataway." He answered.

In less than no time we were back at my class. Well, I dropped Amra before we entered my class.

"Good morning, Sir." She greeted.

"Good morning, Amra. How do you do?"

"I do good, thank you and you?"

"I do good too. Amra, is it lawn tennis or long tennis?"

"It's lawn tennis. What is long tennis?"

"S.K. did you hear that?" Mr. Francis asked him.

"Yes."

"You may leave now."

She left. Thankfully, I gave ameer the paper to give her.

After school.

"Hey, Amra." I said as I hugged her from the back.

"Uhm, you again?"

"You don't seem happy to talk to me."

"SpongeBob."

"Yes, Sandy."

"I finally get to see you."

"Yes b."

She hugged me like her life depended on it as people watched us.

"What do you think about the poem?"

"It's beautiful."

"Like you."

"Awwn thank you."

"Stop blushing."

"I'm not blushing."

We held hands and walked around the school. We sat down on the grass and talked when she pecked me on the lips.

It felt like magic.
