Chapter Ten- the thing he chooses not to believe

chapter ten

"Richie! i'm a vampire!"

eddies breathing picked up as he stared at richie. the sudden realization of what he just said dawned on him and his stomach dropped.

richie stared back and laughed, "don't be stupid eddie just tell me!"

eddie raised an eyebrow, "what?"

" vampires aren't real. now tell me the real reason" richie crossed his arms and eddie rolled his eyes

"i'm not joking Richie."

" fine! if you don't wanna tell me then just leave." richie began to get angry and stormed to his door. he began to turn the handle but suddenly he was being grabbed by the front of his shirt and pushed against the door.

eddie opened his mouth, revealing his fangs "do you believe me now dummy?"

richies eyes widened and he let out a sharp breath. he tried to escape eddies grip but it was too strong, "what the fuck!"

"calm down chee—"

"don't call me chee you— you demon!" richie started to panic

eddie looked hurt at that comment and slowly released his hold. "really?"

richie finally saw that eddie was hurt and stepped out to touch him but eddie backed away. "i'm not a monster richie. i'm the same as i was before but now you know why we can't be together."

"i'm sorry eds i'm just—" he looked at eddies fangs that poked out at his bottom lip, "confused?"

"how do you think i get up your window? i can turn into a bat. how do you think i disappeared that fast that night? super speed. how do you think i can push you up against the wall like i just did? strength. from being a vampire." eddie spoke slowly as richie eyed his teeth.

"i can't bite you. i don't know why i'm just not hungry around you like i am with other humans." eddie shrugged and looked at his feet.

"um... this is weird" richie ran his fingers through his curls

" you can't tell anyone. if anyone finds out they'll kill me. those boys who showed up at your door that night? their monster hunters and if they know i was here they'll kill you and then kill me." eddie looked at richie who was pale, "i'm gonna leave now." he turned to leave through the window but he felt a hand grab his.

"don't—" richie pleaded as he looked down at eddie, "i... i really like you. even if you're a vampire with badass yet scary fangs..." he smiled and eddie couldn't help but giggle

"i want it to work. i want us to work." richie finished as he pulled eddie closer to him

" if stan knew i told you he'd kill me... they don't even want me around you because they think you'll hurt me." eddie let his hand go limp but richie still held on tightly

" he doesn't have to know... i want you eddie. i want us to be together." richie pulled eddie even closer until their chests were touching

"really?" eddie whispered as he looked up at richie

"really." richie cupped eddies face with one hand and held his waist with the other, pulling him closer until their lips touched. eddies hands found their way to richies chest and they slotted their lips together. eddie bit at richies lips, his fangs poking two small holes that made richie gasp and moan

"sorry.." eddie said as he wiped the tiny blood droplet off richies lip, noticing the two dots now prominent on richies lower lip.

"that was... hot" richie pulled eddie in again and smashed their lips together, sliding his tongue into eddies velvety warm mouth. eddie tasted the blood on richies lip, making his senses go wild. he backed richie up into the door and gripped onto his shirt. "i want you" eddie almost growled as he pulled at richies shirt

richie chuckled and pushed eddie away by putting two fingers on his lips, "woah there eds at least take me to dinner"

eddie blushed in embarrassment at his inability to control his senses, "sorry..."

"no, don't be sorry sweetheart, that was incredibly hot and it's taking everything inside me to not rip your clothes off of you... but... i want us to mean something. i want to treat you right. so i'm taking you to diner friday night." richie kissed his forehead and eddie blushed, never having someone care about him that much

"that's real sweet richie..." he straightened out richies shirt, "can't wait"

"and this whole... vampire thing... i'd never tell especially if it puts you in danger." richie reassured as he brushed eddies bangs from his face

"promise?" eddie asked as he leaned his head on richies chest, listening to his loud heartbeat

"on my life" richie hugged eddie back and kissed the top of his head. they stood their for a moment, taking in what all was said.

"sooo..." eddies began as he looked up at richie, "can we make out again?"

"oh, definitely" richie smirked as he pushed eddie back on to his bed
