Emily's p.o.v

"Hello Mr Jackson" I greet the twenty-year-old man. "Hello Emily" he replies, I had to bite down on my tongue to stop myself from commenting after he used my first name. "Please have a seat" I say, pointing to one of the many chairs. Mr Jackson has asked me out on multiple occasion and has taken an interest in me. It is quite unfortunate for him though, that I don't like him. At all. I only put up with him because he is an investor.

Once he was seated, I sat in the seat in front of him. "What can I do for you?" I asked, getting straight to the point. The sooner I know what he is here for the sooner I can deal with him, and then get rid of him. "Well I came to ask you if you were going to the winter wonderland ball" Why would that be of any concern to him? "Yes, I am attending the ball. Most companies that were invited are going and mine is one of them." This ball is held once a year for CEO's and other important people in all the top companies to come and talk some business and then just celebrate what a great year it was for our business. And me being the CEO and secret owner of this company, I have to go.

"Do you have a date?" the shock was evident on my face but I quickly regained my composure. I knew where this was going and I did not want to go with him. But I also couldn't just say no, that could potentially cause unwanted problems. So, I did the only thing I could think of. Lie. "Yes, I do." This time he was the one that looked shocked.

"Who?" he asked, the anger and irritation clear in his voice. "Blake, he's actually outside right now. You passed him on the way in here." I don't know why I said that but it is too late to take it back now.

I'll have to talk to Blake about it later. But as quick as it came, the anger was soon replaced by a smug look, and what he said next both shocked and worried me. "I would like to meet him, after all, he is just outside" I looked at him for a few extra seconds before finally calling Blake and Alex into the room.

They came inside and I told them to have a seat at one of the chairs. Alex sat next to Henry (Mr Jackson) and in front of Blake who sat next to me while Henry sat in front of me. Once they were seated, Henry got straight to the point. "So, which one of you is Blake?" he questioned, looking between the two boys. "I am" Blake answered looking slightly confused. "So, your Emily's date to the winter wonderland ball?" After he said that I just crossed my fingers and hoped Blake would go along with it. "Yes, I am" oh thank god.

"Why are you asking?" Blake added before Henry had the chance to say anything. "I just wanted to see who swept her off her feet before I got the chance to. Anyway" he paused re-directing his attention back to me "I'm looking forward to seeing you at the ball, hopefully you will save me a dance." And with that, he stood and left. Henry also owns a company, not as big as mine but still big enough to get him invited to the ball.

Once we were sure he was gone, I walked back to my office with the boys following and closed the door behind us. I turned around only to come face to face with both boys. "Explain" was all they said. I knew they deserved an explanation so I nodded and led them to the couches on the other side of my office. I sat down and the Two boys sat on the seats opposite mine, Blake was directly in front of me.

I didn't know where to start so I just decided to tell them why Henry was here in the first place. "Henry, the guy you just met in the office, is an investor in this company. He scheduled a meeting for today to ask me to the ball. At first, I didn't know why he wanted to meet until the words left his lips. I was caught off guard and I chose to lie so I didn't have to go with him OR cause any unwanted problems. So, I said the first thing that came to mind, that I was going with you. I know it is a big favour to ask but can you go to the ball with me so I can avoid unwanted questions?" The boys were silent for a few moments until Blake spoke up, surprising me with what he said. "I'll go on one condition" to be honest, I was curious about what his condition was. But then again, curiosity killed the cat....... but satisfaction brought it back so I'm going to ask anyway.

"What's your condition?" I hope it is not too bad. "My friends can come with, even if only Alex comes to the ball, my friends stay with us where ever we go. I am assuming that this ball is in another country?" I guess I could live with those terms. I hope I don't regret this. "Fine" as soon as the word left my mouth, a smile broke out onto both their faces. But I wasn't done talking yet.

"My friends are flying here from Italy on Saturday so we will have a dinner. you and your other friends are invited so we can further discuss the details of the ball and so Alex can meet his date." Once again, they both looked at me confused. "Date?" Alex asked as if he didn't hear me properly.

"Yes, date. now come on I have to go inspect my future house to see if it actually looks like the photos." And with that I made my way to the door and out the building. I don't even have to look back to know that the boys are following me.
