Chapter 12

Chapter 12:

I landed on the roof of the Empire State Building, I looked around, “I didn’t think you would show,” Venom emerged from the shadows, I crouched, “Where is Gwen?” I growled, he just smirked, I lunged at him. Venom dodged me, causing me to roll, I got to my feet and turned, only to get hit in the chest, I slammed into a wall, I groaned, standing up, I looked around for Venom, “Damn it,” I heard a scream.  I turned around and looked up, “Miss me?” Carnage smirked, he was holding Gwen with one arm and a innocent citizen, “Now you must chose,” He lifted up the citizen, “The people of New York,” He then held up Gwen, “Or the love of your life, you want to be a hero? Now you must pay the price, so chose!” He then threw both of them forward off the Empire State Building.  I flipped backwards off the roof; I webbed Gwen with my right hand and webbed the citizen with my left, then I grabbed both webs with my right then webbed the wall with my left, I slammed onto the side of the building and my muscles tensed when I held their webs tightly.  The citizen was screaming but Gwen just looked at me, fear filled her face, “Okay, I’m going to swing you to that ledge!” I yelled to them, they both nodded, I took a deep breath then started to swing my arm left and right, I looked up and saw Carnage climbing down toward me, “I need you to swing your legs then let go and grab onto that ledge!” I said then swung them a couple of more time, the citizen made it and climbed up the ledge but Gwen missed it and started falling.  I webbed her back, her weight caused me to slide down the web I was holding onto slightly, I looked up and Carnage was getting closer, “Okay, we a-are going to try again so I need you to please grab the ledge,” I called, I couldn’t hide the fear in my voice, she nodded.  I started swinging my arm back and forward slowly, I can feel my arm becoming sore, I looked back up and Carnage was only a few feet away, “Ready?” I didn’t give her time to answer because as soon as I swung my arm forward one last time Carnage tackled me, I punched Carnage as we was falling then I heard Gwen screaming, I looked over and she was falling as well.  ‘Damn it,’ I cursed under my breath, I pushed Carnage off of me then webbed the wall, I went to go push off the wall and catch Gwen but Carnage grabbed my foot and pulled, causing me to fall again.  I looked over at Gwen as she was falling, I kicked Carnage off then I took one last chance, I webbed a ledge then I webbed Gwen then I quickly tied them together and webbed the knot.  I let go and slammed into the street, making a crater, I slowly crawled out of the crater then looked up, a breath of relief left my mouth as Gwen crawled up the web and over the ledge then she looked down at me.  I could not help but smile but that smile faded when Carnage shrieked in pure rage, I stood up fully and flexed my muscles until they did not hurt as much then I crouched, “You want me? Now you have to come and get me!” I called. Carnage lunged at me, I rolled onto my back then kicked Carnage hard in the jaw, he fell back then got up, I got up as well, “Do you really think you deserves her?” Carnage asked as he punched me in the jaw, I ignored him as I stumbled but ducked under his arm and kicked him.  I caught his leg then punched his knee hard, causing him to scream in pain, I froze when I fell something sharp went through my stomach, I let go of his leg and looked down at the black tendril sticking out of my stomach. Carnage backed up then Venom lifted me up and threw me onto a car, I slid off the hood and held my stomach as the blood seeped through my fingers, “You can’t face us alone,” Carnage said, standing next to Venom, “He is not alone!” Louis swung down and kicked Venom in the chest, sending him flying backwards, he ducked under Carnage’s arm then kicked his knee, he flipped over Carnage, grabbing his head and throwing Carnage onto Venom.  I tried to get up but failed, I looked up at Louis holding out a gloved hand, I grabbed his forearm and stood up slowly, “Nice timing,” I chuckled, “Let’s finish this, Spider-Duo style,” Louis said then turned toward Venom, I webbed my wound to stop the bleeding then I lunged at Carnage.  I webbed Carnage’s face then kicked his side, I did a back flip over Louis and punched Venom, I grabbed Louis’s hand and spun him around, causing him to kick Venom and Carnage, Louis landed then threw me at Carnage, Carnage stood up and I tackled him through a wall.  Carnage kicked me off of him, causing me to slam onto a display table, clothes falling everywhere, I stood up slowly, “Kasady, you have every right to be angry at me, but that gives you no right to kill innocent people,” I said, dodging his fist, I flipped onto another display table.  “You made me do it, you took away my hope!” He roared, throwing a clothing rack at me, I flipped off the table and used it as a shield, “And I’m sorry I did that to you, I had no right, but you have to learn to forgive and forget,” I said, his lips formed a menacing smirk, “I will, when you are dead!” He tackled me back out onto the streets.  We rolled around, kicking and punching; finally, I kicked him off, I got up slowly, I looked over and Venom got Louis pinned down with a sharp Tendril raised, I grabbed a pole, I jumped over Carnage and kicked him in the back then I webbed another pole and slammed both of them against Venom, sending him flying.  “Here,” I tossed Louis a pole, he caught it, we slammed the poles together, causing Venom and Carnage to shriek in pain, Venom lunged at me, I ducked under him and hit him with the pole, hearing his jaw pop.  I turned and tossed Louis the other pole, “Don’t stop,” I said, he nodded then slammed the poles together again, I grabbed the tendril then webbed it against the wall then I kicked Carnage in the chest.  I heard the poles again, Venom and Carnage fell to the ground, I jumped and landed behind Carnage, I grabbed Carnage’s symbiote and started to pull it. Carnage squirmed, I placed my foot on his back and webbed his hands to the ground then I started pulling on the symbiote, when I saw Cletus, I let go of the symbiote and pulled him out of it.  I let go of Cletus and stood up, Cletus’s symbiote merged with Venom’s, Venom grew bigger, he then grabbed Louis by his head and slammed him against the ground four times then threw him into a car, “Louis!” I called, I went after him but Venom punched me hard, sending flying backwards, I skidded across the road and stopped when I slammed against a wall. I groaned in pain, I got up slowly, I looked at Venom as he came toward me, I needed to think, I webbed a pole to me and lunged at him.  I dodged his massive fist and slammed the pole against his leg, he fell to his knees, I jumped on his back and slammed the pole in his shoulder blade.  I held onto the pole as he thrashed around, trying to throw me off, I webbed another pole and slammed it into his other shoulder blade, he screamed in a mixture of rage and pain, I placed my feet firmly on the lower of his back and held onto him.  He slammed me into a wall, he clawed at my back, I felt my grip on the poles loosening up, I let the poles go and ran up his back, I jumped off his head, I webbed another pole and came down and slammed the pole against the ones that was in his back.  Venom fell forward, I crawled up his back and slammed the poles together, repeatedly, and slowly Venom started shrinking until finally the symbiote vanished into the sewer.  The poles fell harmlessly onto the streets and I fell to my hands and knees, the police grabbed Eddie and put him in the car, “Spidey!” I lifted my head to see Gwen running toward me, a gunshot rang through the streets and Gwen froze, my eyes widen when I saw blood seeping through her shirt, “Gwen!” I called, standing up and running toward her.  Gwen fell to her knees and I saw Cletus dropped the gun and fell to the ground, I caught Gwen before she could hit her head on the street, “Gwen, please, no, oh God, please let this be a dream,” I cried, holding her tightly.  The paramedics pulled her away from me and put her on a stretcher and put her in the Ambulance and drove off.  I went after it but Louis grabbed me, “I don’t think that is a good idea,” He said softly, I bit my lip then looked at Cletus, I walked over to him and kicked him onto his stomach, I then webbed a pole to me and broken it in half.  I raised it up, Louis grabbed my hands and stopped me, “Don’t do it, Spidey,” Louis said, “He killed Gwen,” I said, my voice cracking, “You don’t know that, just let it go,” He slowly took the pole from my hands, I looked at him one last time then swung away.
