Her Unexpected Love

Chapter Ten

His mom was right. Nandito na nga uli si Elisse at dito pa niya nakita sa sariling opisina.

"Sir, I'm sorry di ko po napigilan si ma'am." Hinging paumanhin sa kanya ng sekretarya sa biglaang pagpasok ni Elisse.

"It's alright Bea. I got this. What do you want Elisse?" He asked his ex-fiancé while he turned his attention back to his work without looking at her.

He's confused, magkahalo ang nararamdaman niya. Anger, hatred, pity and love? No, it couldn't be love anymore matapos ang lahat? No way. Mahal na niya si Coffee ngayon.

"Reus.." mahina nitong sabi.

"I know it's way too late to say sorry but I am really sorry."

"Save your apologies. I don't wanna hear it. We're done. Umalis ka na. I don't need you here." Mariin niyang sagot dito.

"Please Reus hear me out first." Nagmamakaawang sabi nito.

"I said go!" His eyes are raging fire. Tila natakot naman ang dalaga at napaatras ito.

"Babalik ako Reus. And just so you know, I want you back." Saad nito at umalis na iniwan siyang napatda rito.

"Wala ka nang babalikan Elisse." Saad niya sa kawalan.

Isang araw nalang at first year anniversary na nila ni Reus at naisipan ni Coffee na surpresahin ang binata. Pinag-bake niya ito ng paborito nitong red velvet cake.

Pagkatapos makapag-bake ay nagbihis na siya para puntahan ito sa opisina.

Elisse barged in Reus' office unnoticed.

"What are you doing here Elisse? Wala na tayong dapat pag-usapan!" Galit niyang sabi dito saka tumayo upang harapin ito.

"Meron Reus. Marami at kailangan mo akong pakinggan..." hindi siya agad sumagot dito and she took it as a yes from him.

"I still love you Reus. I'm sorry I left and ditched you on the day of our wedding. I was confused and scared. Your parents don't like me and I still have to accomplish my dreams bilang sikat na modelo. I know nasaktan kita at wala akong karapatang humingi ng tawad but all I got is you. I realized that after all these years ikaw pa la. Ikaw lang pala ang kailangan ko. I need you, Reus. Please be with me again." She said directly at him.

Tahimik pa rin siya hanggang dahan-dahang lumalapit sa kanya si Elisse.

"Please Reus, give me another chance. Give our love a chance again. I promise di na ako aalis. Hindi na ako mang-iiwan. Kung sakaling ikasal uli tayo, ako na ang maghihintay sa pagdating mo. Ako ang maghihintay sa altar. I will do everything to make you love me back. Gagawin ko lahat ng gusto mo. Di na'ko babalik sa Paris. I'll stay. Please.." she pleaded him and held his face with the palm of her hands.

He is confused. Galit pa rin siya but his sensitive heart pities her, matagal rin ang kanilang pinagsamahan.

They stared at each other, observing. Then, she reached for his lips and kissed him. He gasped in surprise but did not push her away. Not yet. He kissed her back instead thinking and asking himself, checking his heart if the love for her is still there.

Nakarating si Coffee sa opisina ni Reus pero siya pala ang masu-surpresa. She saw Reus kissing a woman. Was he cheating on her at ngayon lang niya nalaman? Kung kailan mag-iisang taon na sila? Kailan pa ito nagsimulang lokohin siya? How could he break her heart like this?

Iniwan niya ang cake sa mesa ng sekretarya nito without saying a single word. Umalis siyang iyak ng iyak.

Reus slowly pushed Elisse away from him and said..

"I'm sorry Elisse. You're too late. I don't love you anymore. May mahal na akong iba. And for your peace of mind, I don't hate you.  Pinapatawad na kita. Please, don't ruin my life again by coming back here, to me, at ayokong magka-problema kami ni Coffee. She's everything to me." Sabi niya kay Elisse.

"I understand. I'm sorry again Reus. Akala ko may babalikan pa ako. Guess, I'm too late now. Di na kita guguluhin. And thank you for forgiving me." She answered him while wiping her tears away.

"So this is goodbye. I wish you all the happiness Reus. You deserve it."

"Goodbye Elisse. Be happy." Saad niya rito bago ito umalis.
