(Valentine's POV)

"Ready to go?"

"One minute." Enzo said making me roll my eyes.

Guy takes longer to get ready than mom.

"We're going to be late for the first day of classes. Dad is going to kick our asses." I said getting impatient.

"I'm coming." He said jogging into the living room.

We're both majoring in business. I'm sure you can guess why. We managed to get the exact same schedule so we're together all the time.

We barely made it on time for our first class. We got inside and took a seat in the back.

"Welcome to Microeconomics Calculus I. My name is Professor Hawkins. I'm going to take role today and today only. I do not care if you show up or if you skip. I get paid regardless and it's your education, not mine."

He went down through names and when he got to us he stopped.

"V-Valentine and Lorenzo Bianchi." He said.

"Present." We said holding up our hands.

He began to sweat. Safe to say he must know dad.

He gave a short nod and went back to calling names.

We had three more classes after that and then we were done for the day. Instead of going back to the apartment, we decided to head to the cafeteria for lunch.

We found a seat in the corner and sat down. It was approximately thirty minutes before three guys approached us.

"You two are in my statistics class." One guy said sitting down.

"We are." Enzo nodded.

"I'm Zach. This is Chris and Colin." He said.

"I'm Lorenzo and this is Valentine but you can call us Enzo and Val."

"You two are beasts, anyone ever tell you that?" Chris said.

"Beasts?" I asked.

"Yeah, you're huge. What? Like 6'2 and over 180 pounds?"

"Something like that." Enzo smirked.

"Ever think about sports?"

"Thought about it a time or two."

"No go?"

"No."

"We're on the baseball team. You gotta at least come work out with us sometime." Colin said.

"Sure." We nodded just as a large group of people came in.

The guys in front of us kept talking but I wasn't paying attention. I'm sure Enzo wasn't either.

I really tuned them out when I saw two girls walk in.

"Who are they?" I asked nodding the girls direction.

The guys turned to look.

"Audrey is the brunette and Ruby is the red-head. They're transfers." Colin said.

"From where?"

"California. They're beautiful, huh?" Zach said.

We stayed silent.

"They rarely talk to anyone according to my girlfriend. She's in one of their classes." Chris said.

"Anyway, you two live in a dorm?"

"No, an apartment."

"An apartment?"

"Yeah. It's not far from here."

"Well then you'll be hosting some killer parties."

"Don't think so. We don't party." Enzo said.

"Seriously?"

We nodded.

"Damn. Alright then." Zach said as Colin checked his watch.

"We gotta go. Time for class."

"Alright."

We exchanged numbers with them and they were on their way.

"Penso che ne vedremo molti." Enzo said.
(I think we will be seeing a lot of them.)

"Penso tu abbia ragione."
(I think you're right.)

I watched across the cafeteria as the two girls, Audrey and Ruby, sat by themselves.

"You think she's pretty." Enzo teased.

"Don't pretend like you keep watching Ruby."

"We going to try and talk to them? Like normal guys do when they like a girl."

"Look at them and tell me what you see."

He watched them for a minute or two and then cursed under his breath.

"You see it?"

"Yeah." He nodded.

They spoke only amongst the two of them. They wore long sleeves and blue jeans even though it was hot outside. They didn't look any one in the eyes for more than a few seconds. And I saw them flinch several times when people got to close to them at the food bar.

We left the cafe and went back to the apartment where we called mom. She asked us all about our day and if we met any new people. We told her about the guys and she was excited that we met some guys to hang out with.

Then she gave us the lecture about the fact that we can have friends and go out, but if our grades drop then we will have to face our father's wrath.

We ended up being on the phone with her for a hour and then we spoke to dad for about fifteen minutes.

"Hey," Enzo said later on when we were sitting on the balcony before bed.

"Yeah?"

"Think this is going to be a good year?"

I shrugged. "I guess we'll see."

He chuckled and shook his head. "My brother, ever the optimist."

"And don't you forget it." I winked.
