"Shiro. I must tell you something after the exams." He said, shocking her as she looked back at him.
"O-okay, but why after the exams? Why not now?" She questioned, only for him to give a small smile, his other hand lifting to cup the left side of her cheek.
"It's a surprise. But I assure you, it is just as important."
It was the day after the practical portion of Class 1-A's Final Exams, the students of said class were chattering about the previous day's events and also their summer camp.
"Everyone, I'm looking forward to a bunch of awesome stories from the trip...!" Mina Ashido hiccuped, trying to contain her own tears as she and three others sulked.
"Just hold on, now. There could still be some twist to this!" Midoriya tried to lighten the spirits of Ashido, Kirishima, Sato and Kaminari, watching them mutter about missing the summer camp.
As the few were talking by the front of the class, Todoroki and Yaoyorozu were at the back, their focus solely on the empty desk behind them. Kurayami had not returned to consciousness yet, Recovery Girl had told them.
The two were concerned for the girl, one more so than the other, but they had remembered that Recovery Girl stated her Quirk over-usage as well as how many injuries and broken bones she had gotten which took a large amount of her stamina to be healed.
Todoroki decided to visit the girl after school in the infirmary to check on her. His mind was still hung up on the hand mark by her neck where All Might had strangled her during the exams. His hands clenched into fists on his desk.
He was furious to the Pro Hero, being so reckless about his own strength and putting one of his students into such a state. He couldn't believe that All Might would go that far just to prevent them from passing the exams. How could he?
Just as the thoughts of yesterday angered him more, Aizawa had came in, interrupting his thoughts as the teacher walked in, silencing the whole classroom.
"About your final exams. Sadly, we had some failures. As such, you're all going summer camp training." The failed students all had practically burst into tears at the sudden twist of events, thanking the heavens for allowing them to join in on the camp.
"Everyone cleared the written tests, but in the practical..." Aizawa sifted though his stack of papers for a moment. "-Kirishima, Kaminari, Ashido, Sato and Sero all failed."
From there, Todoroki barely listened to all the comments coming from the class, merely staring off with a blank expression while his mind wandered.
As far as he knew, from Kurayami's part of the exam, she had been the one to be injured the most severe. Both Midoriya and Bakugo had already woken up and had been healed to almost normal, while she remained bandaged and unconscious.
