Marcus had a very long and lonely flight. He can’t stop thinking about Luna even after arriving in Madrid. He looks over at the arrival area and sees his name “Marcus Wolfe” written on a white Cartolina paper being held by a tall Spanish looking man.
“Welcome to Madrid Mr. Wolfe. I’m Hector Sanchez. Your father hired me to take care of you while you’re here”
Marcus goes to the car with Hector and travels to Huelva, a province on the south west of Spain. Hours have passed but Marcus is still too preoccupied with Luna that he disregards the beauty of Huelva by staring blankly at its lush forestry and scenery from the car window.
He goes down from the car and sees a gigantic building saying “GAIA”. The building is very tall and immaculate. It isn’t like anything he has seen before. Not even the skyscrapers in New York can match to the building’s beauty. Just as Marcus is about to send a text message to Luna to tell her that he arrived safely, Hector grabs his phone.
“Your father strictly forbids you of having contact with the outside world while you’re training”
“This is ridiculous! Let me talk to my father!” with an angry tone.
Hector dials the number of his father and hands Marcus his phone.
“Father, is this true? I can’t contact people?”
“Yes it is my son. You have to focus on your training and you can’t be distracted. The outside government has tools to listen to people’s conversations and we can’t handle you giving out information carelessly to anyone”
“You didn’t tell me this! You foo-“ but before he could finish his sentence, his father hangs up.
Hector snatches his cellphone and throws it on the valley. He examines Marcus’ bag and when he is about to throw his laptop away, Marcus jumps at him. The guards of the building viciously grab Marcus and take him inside the building. They locked him up in a huge almost empty room.
Moments later, Hector enters the room carrying a tray of food.
“You have to eat Marcus. You had a long journey”
“I didn’t expect to be held up in here like a prisoner!” he yells and pushes the tray from his anger creating a mess on the carpeted floor.
“Have it your way sir” in a calm tone
“I’ll send someone to clean this”
Hector leaves the room and Marcus lies down on the bed. He keeps looking at the ceiling feeling distraught until he finally falls asleep from exhaustion.
Hours later, the strong sunlight pierces through his closed eyes waking him up. He looks out the window to find ways to escape. He sees that the gate isn’t high enough and thinks of climbing it. Just before he looks away, he sees a hawk die from getting electrocuted from the gate. He gets discouraged and closes the drapes to go back to sleep.
About ten minutes after closing his eyes, he hears a loud alarm. Two guards grab him making him panic and anxious.
“What are you going to do with me? Where are you taking me?”
They put him inside a room and to his surprise; his father is already waiting there.
“You are insane! Take me back home!”
“My son, we have talked about this before. You have to forget about your silly little friends and think about your future”
Siegfried picks up a remote control from a golden table and turns on a projector showing Marcus a map of the world with North America, South America and Europe having a green color overlaying them. He points at the continents and starts to explain.
