An Asian middle-aged woman is being charged for murder in a court room. When the verdict was given, the woman screams and kicks all the furniture surrounding her. Suddenly, in a different room that looks like a basement, a blonde man is pointing a gun at a lady who has her mouth taped and her hands and feet bounded by a rope.
Bang!
Those are the dreams that Sandra was having. The realistic gunshot sound wakes her up in a terrified state causing her sister to wake up as well.
“Are you alright? You were having a nightmare”
“Luna, I can’t deal with this anymore. Ever since my birthday, I’ve been having these nightly scares. All of my dreams had such strong messages. They all felt very personal which frightens me more”
“I could just imagine what you’re going through. I wish there’s something we could do to at least have any idea of what’s going on. I’ll look for information in the public local library tomorrow. I’ll do whatever I can to help you stop this. You should also tell mom about this”
“I’ll get you some milk just stay right here”
Sandra keeps staring blankly at the wind-blown curtains on the window from the traumatic dream she had. Luna tries to stay awake with her but after some time she dozes off. She is scared to go back to sleep and tries to stay awake as much as she can. She is not able to get any sleep that night leaving her glass of heated milk untouched.
The dawn appears and Sandra is still wide awake. She slowly walks to her computer and starts typing for keywords such as clairvoyance, premonitions, psychic ability and ESP on the internet. Much to her dismay, most of the articles she sees are just general information. She cannot find a way on how to stop her nightmares. Still very determined in looking for answers, she keeps on reading even after her sister left the house.
Luna heads out to the public local library looking for paranormal and psychic books reading every article she would find helpful to her sister. She spent six hours in the library finding absolutely nothing. She decides to call the day off and starts to walk home.
As she walks through the Goldbrick Street to the subway station on a particularly busy dusk, a small library grabs her attention. The door has a Jewish Star of David symbol and a closed sign is peeking through the door’s glass window. She looks closer to see if there is anyone inside.
Suddenly, the door opens and a frightening old woman appears. She has long and thick white hair, very wrinkly skin and is wearing a black dress while her deep and dark eyes are framed by kohl.
“What brings you here? Haven’t you seen the closed sign young lady?”
She fidgets as she replies “I’m just worried about my sister. I’ve been in the public library the whole day looking for something that can help her with her nightmares. She sees scary events in her dreams and she told me that they all felt so real. She was even able to see the bombing in Hyacinth Street…”
The woman looks appalled by Luna’s revelation.
She drags Luna’s arm to the library and quickly shuts the door. Her eyes became bigger making her look more frightening.
“This is serious child! Your sister’s life is in danger! These hallucinations, dreams or whatever you call them can drive her insane. She needs to learn how to control these dreams. Not even the great oracles such as Sybil and Nostradamus had full control of their powers”
”How old is your sister dear child?”
“She’s 18, just a year older than me”
The woman calmed down and asks Luna to take a seat. She then walks inside a room filled with books leaving Luna terrified.
