Fifteen years before.
Shawn was crouched down, staring down into the crystal clear water that ran through the pack territory, his back turned away from his mate, Alura. She walked over in wolf form, her red wolf nuzzling his neck. He tilts his head upward, letting her cold nose sniff gently at his pulse. She licked under his ear, before dropping down beside him and chewing on the pads of her paws. Shane ran a hand through her fur, before the words drifted from her thoughts to his.
LoveMatePack.
He smiled, before standing and lifting his shirt over his head, tossing the soft white fabric onto the ground. Alura looks over her shoulder, watching with wild contentness. Stripping down, he tosses all his clothing into a pile and shifts into a wolf, almost painless as his bones popped and shaped themselves. She whines as he walks over to him, a soft whimper that made Shawns heart throb. She heard it, and gave him a large canine smile. He wags his tail, before taking a large, arching leap into the low shining waters. She yipped, before following his actions with a soft glare.
LATER THAT night they were laying in their bed, staring at the low hanging ceiling, Alura nibbling on her lower lip as Shawn sifted his fingers through her dirty brown hair. "I'm pregnant." She whispered, and Shawns heart stopped. "W-what?" He said, his mind flurring. "Yes. Pregnant." She said cautiously, choosing her words carefully. Shawn heard her heart race, noting every pump and surge it made. "T-that's..." He stuttered for words, before rolling over and lacing his fingers over her hips. He laughed, bright and happy. "That's amazing!" He laughed as she giggled, looking pleased. "Good, because there is no backing out of this now." She warned with a wide grin, her eyes pleased.
It was a boy. A Beta boy, not much different from his father. Light black hair and a sweet smile. Two wide, shiny brown eyes and a knack to eat everything. His name was Daven.
