Forgiveness

I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
If I haven't said it enough,
I'll say it some more.
I'll keep repeating those words,
until you believe me.
I know I'm not exactly the brightest
lantern in the room but promise me
you'll try to understand where I'm from.
And I know you don't deserve all of this,
that the world has hurt you enough,
and I'm just another thorn in your life,
but please, please, I tell you this,
listen to me, I'm telling you with all my heart.
I've tried my best and I know,
that my best will never be enough for you,
and I wish I could bare my soul
and give it all up in in this world for you.
I've been selfish every time I've spent with you,
but I just couldn't let go of everything,
I could never have with you.
And I know you've tried to forget me,
along with all the pain I've left you in,
and I promise I won't try to remind you,
the past of our glorious sins.
But, pleas, at least, I beg of you,
let me redeem myself,
for the last words I leave for you,
I don't want them to be,
anything but perfect.
