Riley began talking about random things "You know-" a correctional officer came up to us and still stopped the conversation

"176 and 179 back away from 182." The officer called us by our numbers

I've seen him round before.He looked like a dad he had a well groomed beard, bald and average height and he wasn't as demanding as other officers.All the inmates seem to treat him with respect.

"A lawyer and a couple officers from this county would like to see you." The officer who's badge read 'Daniel' said

I probably shouldn't have but I asked "Am I in trouble?"

"I don't know child." He shrugged patting my back

We walked side by side to a room on the first level.It was the last door down the hall and it was dimly lit.As we entered there was a man in a suit and two officers from what I could see.

"You can leave Daniel." said the man in the suit

"Karmella West do you know why we're here?" The lawyer asked with his hands crossed

I was starting to feel nervous "No." I replied

"We are here because on the camera of the house you robbed there's someone who was with you.If you tell us who it is we can take a year off your sentence." He explained

Only a year?

I'll take what I can get.

"Um is a year the most you can take off?" I asked the lawyer trying not to push it

"It depends on you, West."

"Um-"

"Think about it we'll be back tomorrow." The lawyer says dismissing me

"What were you saying earlier?" I asked Riley at lunch sipping on the fruit punch

"I was gonna say something, but you'd disagree anyways." Riley shrugged eating her sandwich

"I hate when you do that." I rolled my eyes playfully

Taymor's friends where sitting at our table like usual.Only Taymor wasn't here and Maria was sitting with some other Hispanic girls.

"Uh oh." Riley groaned looking at something behind Jocelyn and I

Vanessa had came up to our table.Like usual she was with her daily antics.Being irritating and flirty which wasn't something anyone enjoyed.

"Can you leave?" Jocelyn said with attitude

Of course she was ignored "Hey baby." Vanessa winked at me

I guess Nahmir sensed I was uncomfortable and pulled me into his lap.

"Awe." Everyone at the table besides Vanessa said and my face heated up

His head was in the crook of my neck and his breath tickled.I moved around trying to get a bit more comfortable.After a bit more movement his hands was digging into my thigh which kinda hurt, but gave me a tingly feeling.

"Ouch Nahmir." I whined quietly

"Stop moving," He sucked his teeth "damn."

Nessa rolled her eyes "So y'all are a couple?" She wasn't entertained

"Yup this mine." He smirked at her kissing my neck.

"Whatever." She sucked her teeth
