They set off towards Blackwater Shopping Centre, after phoning Leda to let her know they were going out.

"Alright, favourite colour?" Vin asked as they joined the motorway.

"Blue. You?"

"Red."

"Favourite band?"

"Def Leppard," said Vin with a grin. "You?"

Callum thought for a while. "Meat Loaf. And Shania Twain."

"Shania Twain?"

"What? I like her." Said Callum defensively.

Vin made a face but said nothing. "Favourite author?"

"James Patterson. You?"

"I don't really have one." Vin answered.

"Come on. You have to choose."

"Alright... Terry Brooks. Favourite food?"

"Fish and chips." Callum grinned. "Nice and simple. You?"

"Anything Italian. Pizza, pasta." Vin shrugged. "Just food in general, really."

Callum laughed. "So that's why you go for all those runs. Running off pasta calories. And here's me thinking you have a secret girlfriend."

Vin snorted. "Not at all." He said firmly. "Favourite actor?"

"Russell Crowe. You?"

"Matt Damon. Favourite actress?"

"Erm... I don't know... Julia Roberts."

"I think-"

"If you say Angelina Jolie, I'll throttle you." Callum warned.

"No," said Vin with a laugh. "Emma Thompson."

"Okay. Favourite..." Callum paused. "I can't think of anything else."

"Animal." Vin supplied.

"Dog."

"Me too."

"Favourite job. I mean, what you'd want to be after school."

"I have no idea." Said Vin. "You?"

"Perhaps a teacher."

"That'd be good. You'd have loads of holidays."

Callum smiled.

"How about... favourite place for a date?"

"I think... a quiet meal somewhere, where you can talk to each other. You?"

"Hm... can't go wrong with the cinema, I guess... or a meal, like you said. Perhaps bowling or ice skating."

"Ice-skating sounds fun. We should do that sometime. They do it in the town square in December, don't they?"

Vin nodded. "I'm sure Leda would take us. She loves ice-skating, although she can't do it at all. She looks more like a windmill, with her arms and legs spinning round."

Callum laughed.

They pulled into the car park at Blackwater and went inside.

"First things first," said Vin. "I'm getting a drink. What do you want?"

"A milkshake, please."

They went inside a small milkshake shop and ordered two large milkshakes. Callum took forever to decide which flavour he wanted.

"We can come back later for another one.” Said Vin with amusement at Callum’s dilemma.

"Well... What sounds better? Oreo or Cadbury Crème Egg flavour?"

"One Oreo and one Crème Egg, please." Vin told the girl behind the counter.

"I don't want both of them," said Callum in alarm.

"Good. You're not getting both of them."

Callum looked puzzled.

When their shakes arrived, Vin made Callum try them both and take the one he wanted most.

He finally decided on Crème Egg.

They sat down in a small booth with their milkshakes, and continued their question-and-answer session.
