Friends 2 - Logan x Patton

Start from the beginning

Roman closed his eyes momentarily, taking out his phone once he had contemplated the idea. He shot his parents a text, staring down at the response with an elated heart. "Do you desire to stay here?" Roman spoke up, meeting Logan's gaze. He adjusted his glasses, nodding his head confidently. "I do, but I cannot" this made Patton's heart shatter further as he picked at the grass he sat on.

Roman nodded, standing up and holding his hand down to Logan. "Come with me" the boy was confused, but let Roman haul him up. They left behind the cardigan-clod and the emo so they could talk privately. Leaning on the school building, Roman bounced his phone in his hand, sighing out. "Listen" Roman began, lingering his gaze on his boyfriend and best friend.

"I don't like you" he stated out-right, "you insulted my best friend, and acted like a complete asshole to him when all he wanted to do was be your friend" Logan crosses his arms, setting his lips into a tight straight line. "Your point?" He fired back.

"My point is you make him happy, and out of everyone in this school, you're..." Roman trailed off, unable to understand why he was going to say this. "You're the only one good enough for him" he managed, quirking his lips when he noticed a pastel pink blush coat Logan's chiselled cheek. "So, me being the brilliant best friend I am" he held his phone towards Logan who took it tentatively, reading the texts on screen, eyes widening as he did. "My parents are thinking to adopt. I suggested you"

Logan swallower thickly, looking up at Roman. "Why are you doing this?"

"Not for you" Roman said without missing a beat, "for Patton. You never know, though" he looked down at his nails, "I might learn to like you"

Logan cleated his throat, giving his phone back. "Thank you, Roman. Thank you" he repeated, the second time quieter. "All in a days work, I am the best, after all" Roman brushed by Logan to return to his friends, letting Logan follow behind on his own accord, the idea of having a family again almost stripping him down to fall to the ground in tears. However, he kept himself composed, even when Patton threw his arms around him in an excited hug, squealing at how happy he was at the prospect Logan for to stay.

And, honesty? Logan was happy, too.

He met Roman's gaze and smiled.

Yeah, he was definitely going to get over his old friends.

I could be brown, I could be blue, I could be violet sky, I could be hurtful, I could be purple, I could be anything you like

Logan closed the door to his new home, finding his new parents in the kitchen, making dinner. He offered them a quick greeting, and had a short conversation about his day. He didn't reveal much, and acted more off then usual. His dad asked if everything was okay, but didn't ask more on the matter after he told them both everything was okay. He allowed his father to give him a quick hug, informing him dinner would be ready in ten minutes before he allowed Logan to leave.

The boy made his way to his new room, walking to his side and avoiding Roman who sat on his bed, singing lyrics to a song Logan didn't recognise. He hoped Roman would leave him alone, but when something hit his back, he sighed out and turned to Roman who was smirking, one earphone out, eyes gleaming with curiosity.

"What's up with you, Mr. Repressed and Depressed?"

Logan gave him a 'really?' look, shaking his head and sitting on his bed. "It is nothing" he murmured swiftly, hoping Roman would follow the path their parents did, but of course someone like him would never do that. He flopped onto Logan's bed, leaving his phone and earphones behind.

"Talk to me, specs!" He demanded, sending him a subtle grin.

"My mother-or grandmother, died" he forced out, finding it pointless to argue. Roman softened his gaze and slowly sat up, becoming serious as he didn't realise whatever was bothering Logan would be that bad. "She was my guardian after my parents died. I loved her. But she forgot me. I cannot do anything about it now, so I do not know why I am so upset" he cursed under his breath when his voice hitched and tears welled up in his eyes.

Turning his head, he didn't watch Roman shuffle up the bed beside him and wrap an arm around his waist comfortingly. Sighing, Logan sniffled and leaned into his side, coughing out a few sobs he desperately tried to withhold.

"Let it out, nerd" Roman murmured, stroking his side with his thumb. "Let it out..." he repeated, finally managing to make Logan break down and completely collapse against him, removing his glasses to not bend them while he smushed half his face into the side of Roman's chest.

"I'm sorry" Logan whispered after awhile, "this-this is quite embarrassing-"

"Not at all" Roman replied, stretching his legs out across his bed. "We're all here for you, teach. Don't forget that" Logan nodded and cleared his throat, using a few tissues to clean his face and blow his nose.

"Now" Roman grinned, standing in the middle of their room. "Lets have dinner; shall we?"

Logan smiled. "We shall"
