The locket

Even though you knew by now that sirens didn't exactly age to their appearance, but still, it didn't make any sense to you how these two people could be Jimin's great great great grandparents. Neither of them looked to be a day over 40. There was no sign for either wrinkles or grey hair, or well. Their hair colour was a pale silver-ish colour, but it didn't look like any other elder's hair that you had ever seen. To be honest, it looked rather trendy. Giving them that mysterious creature look.

Glancing at you for a second, Mr. Park then said while intertwining his fingers together. 

"For a long time there have been an ancient prophecy in our family, saying that one day the world that we once knew it as, would come to change for real. Traditions would break, and a new era would begin. There was never a specific date when this would occur or any specific details about what it would be, but what we did know, was that one day one of our own would come into this house and change our lives forever." 

Seeing the way they exchanged looks with one another only to then look at you, it just gave you a feeling that this so called prophecy was connected with yourself somehow. And it didn't seem like they were too pleased with it. 

"That women, she's of human blood. If the two of you have the kind of relationship that I fear that you have, then I do hope that you realises that its strictly prohibited. In the ancient laws of the sirens, I quote "Its not allowed for a siren to have any kinds of interaction or relations with someone of human flesh, as its not part of a sirens nature. The only kind of social interaction that is allowed between these two species, is simply for hunting purposes and nothing else"."

Feeling yourself gulp hard, you couldn't not help to come to the realisation of how odd and unusual you and Jimin's relationship was. You and him was indeed born into two completely different worlds, in fact you wasn't even of the same species. If someone were to put your lives beside one another to compare the similarities, then it would most probably show quite a big difference. From the way you was raised to normal things like behaviours. But on the other hand, why did it have to matter if you was different from others? 

Did Romeo and Juliette give up their own lives for each other, for nothing? No, they did it to prove a very important point in the history of love. That it's okay to break the laws of the society and not be like everyone else, because as long as there's love between two lost souls, then the bond will stay and they will be one. No matter what anyone else say.

"Excuse me, Mrs. and Mr. Park." you said and cleared your throat, causing the attention of everyone in the room to fall on you. "I very much understand if in your eyes, this seems uncomfortable and wrong in so many ways." you gestured at yourself and Jimin and continued. 

"But from my point of view, it's not that bad. Of course, we are not the same, not even close. Though, fate decided to tie our destinies together for some reason that is still unknown. And I can admit that I don't know much about your history, but don't you think that it's time for you to open up that narrow mindset of yours and see what the new generation has come to?"

Did you go too far? Perhaps you did, considering the shocked expressions on their faces. Though beside you, a very proud looking Jimin was watching you with awe. The faint smile that was decorating his lips, along with the pride that was filling his eyes. Gave you enough courage to open your mouth one more time, to ask 

"And correct me if I'm wrong, but if my memory isn't lacking. I think that I was once told that a relationship like Jimin and I's, has in fact occurred before. So wouldn't it in that case be possible for us to be able to live a life without a worry of us being different?"

The memory of when you first was taken to the siren house in the woods, and was told by Namjoon about the history of sirens. You could vaguely recollect a memory of him speaking about a human and a siren having a relationship way before your time. So if that had been able to work out before, why couldn't it happen again?
