People say that 73% of the human brain is water. But I doubt that. I'm not a Biologist but I'm sure that if even a drop of us was present in the human brain, they'd know better than polluting water.
For centuries, humans ruled over the world. They infuriated the ocean, and now it was tired. It was time humans tasted the fruit of the seeds they had sown. For water's soft, but savage.
Me? I'm Bayou the sea-wave! That swollen wave, that's my sister, Cordelia! And that unsteady wave back there, that's Grandpa, Loire!
We live in the Atlantic, dancing with the wind, laughing with the fish, and witnessing heart-wrenching incidents.
Once, Achike- the turtle was stuck in a plastic bag and died in his mother's arms. And near them, Zuri the seahorse was swimming with a Q-tip stuck to its tail! I whirled around it crazily to free it.
The sight was devastating, and inspired us to take a step.
Our human-friend, Aldwin; a sea-cleaner, collaborated with other sea-cleaners and launched a sea-cleaning campaign.
Shortly, a storm hit California, wiping-out thirteen humans!
Aelius- the sun, said that the Pacific was punishing humans for using us as their waste-bins! He suggested payback but Grandpa said,
"Two wrongs don't make a right."
Later our cousins from the Pacific visited us. They were bigger than the Rogue-Wave encountered by Scotland in 2000! I was thunder-struck!
Cordelia heard that Grandpa signed some agreement and we sneaked out to investigate. The agreement stated,
"If plastic wasn't banned, every drop of water will unite to punish humans."
WILD!
Our journey home was filth-filled and distressing. We swam calmly under the midnight stars. Dead animals and trash floated over us as the moon silently grieved the human fate.
"What is the punishment?" Cordelia questioned.
Three anxiety-filled days later, we gathered the courage to ask Grandpa.
"Aelius told you?" he frowned.
"Pacific cousins," I replied, wanting to bury my head like an ostrich.
"Every existing drop of water will unite and evaporate into clouds, until the humans realize that plastic is death," he stated, dramatically.
MIND-BLOWN!
I loved the sound of that!
Cordelia cried, "Grandpa, what about the plants, animals and- Aldwin?"
"We'll send water to the nice people drop-by-drop. They won't suffer."
"How'll we know who's nice?"
"We'll know."
Days passed like years and every passing moment enraged us. Two restless days later, Aelius came dazzling, heated us up and WOOOSH!
It was like Santa's sleigh!
I looked down to see countless people and noticed something extraordinary, something incredible.
Some people were glittering!
"Do you see it, Bayou?" Grandpa whispered.
Nice people glittered!
I thought it was a myth!
Our stay was long, but soon, humans banned single-use plastic!
All was good but Aldwin became jobless. He now works as a life-guard at beaches.
We got justice for Achike and Zuri. Nothing felt better.
Humans changed for mother-nature.
They chose what was worthier, their Planet, or Plastic.
