Grandma, Grandma, come home soon,
You've taken with you, the stars and the moon.My days have turned gray, my heart to stone,
Anxiety engulfs me, deep in my bones. Not hearing the TV blaring in your room,
Has filled the house with a flurry of gloom. When I can't sleep, I remember your touch,
The warmth of your hugs, I miss so much.Grandma, Grandma, come home please,
I'm longing for the bell, the jangling of the keys.Any minute now, I'm hoping for a call,
Telling me you've recovered from your fall.To hear your voice just once more,
Is all that I am asking for.I'll spend more time on the edge of your bed,
Telling you stories that I have read.I'll read you my poems, I'll tell you my thoughts,
Starting with this one, I'll show you the whole lot.I'll spend every minute, that's what I'll do,
I'll be by your side, I promise you.Grandma, Grandma, I want you to know,
That I care much more than I have shown.I love you too much to set you free,
Please, Grandma, come home to me.~Via
