Back story

You don't remember Greece well. You were only a child when you were shipped off to the Carribean. Your father had made a grave mistake. Something that should not have been possible. You were the daughter of a mermaid. And mermaids children were always hunted. The children of the sea were said to lead sailors to incomprehensible amounts of treasure. This wasn't true of course. How could you lead anyone to anything of you couldn't find any treasure yourself. But with children of the sea, there was also a curse. Every night when there is a full moon, you hear them. You hear the mermaids screaming for their lost children. And on those nights are when you feel the despair of all of the mermaid mothers who've lost their kids. It's not as bad. As far as curses go. So to make sure no harm would come to you, as it inevitably would have if you stayed in the Mediterranean, you were shipped off. You were sold as a child slave to be auctioned off in the Carribean. Which was where you met Will Turner.

Years later you and Will shared a bond. He was like your big brother. One day he asked about the gold dolphin pendant you had. It was a gift from your mom. Your father had given it to you when he shipped you off. From what you hear your father's dead now. Your aunt had written you. Saying about how your father drowned himself, because he couldn't handle the thought that he couldn't be with the woman he loved. And that he couldn't be with you.
