🌻 Friendzone || Ralsei X Reader

You bump into Susie and Lancer the moment you turn around. "Oof! Ow!" You were easily pushed back down unintentionally by Susie. Her figure is solidly strong and tall compared to you.

"Watch where you're going, midget!" Rudeness was clearly in the tone of Susie's voice.

"Yeah, watch it!" Lancer mimicks Susie in a proud manner.

Even though the three of you are in the same group namely "The Fun Gang" as Susie declares, they still can't help but have that evil nature and laugh as you land on the ground. Real fragile.

"Rude!" You say unfavourably. Susie directly grabs your arm in a light manner so that you wouldn't get too hurt. After all, she still may or may not consider you a friend.

"What're you lurking around here for?" She asks. "Why would you care?" You cross your arms.

"Cuz.." Lancer trails off, making an eye contact with Susie. They were holding their laughter in. "We saw what happened!" Then, they burst out laughing.

"Seriously Y/N, since when did you become so vulnerable? It's pathetic!" Susie bullies. "Sad! Sad! Sad!" Lancer adds.

* You question why you have them as a friend.

"Tsk! I've got no time for your teasing!" You growl at them.

"Y-Y/N? Are you here?" The soft sound of Ralsei's precious voice echoes from nearby. Your eyes widen, you feel your heart race. You look to Susie and Lancer who was beside you.

"Now, shoo! Go somewhere else!" You gently push them away from where you currently are, hoping Ralsei wouldn't spot you just yet.

Just as you tuck both friends into another path deep in the forest, Ralsei notices you were nearby. You smile nervously as he approaches.

"There you are! You shouldn't wander around here yourself. What were you doing, Y/N?" He asks, a curvy smile present on his lips.

"U-Um.. I was just l-looking for something.." You avoid eye contact. "Oh? What is it you're looking for?"

"W-Well.." You try to find an excuse convincing enough that your purpose in the middle of field wasn't just a stand. "I wanted to give a little something for yo-I mean, someone! I wanted to get someone a.. err, treat I guess..?"

Ralsei looks at you, tilting his head. You play with your fingers, so that you could pay attention to your actions instead of his expressions. "S-So that I can show t-them how much I love t-them?" Your face feels hot at this point.

Ralsei seems to get what you mean. "Oh! I see what you're trying to say! Can I help?" He offers.

"S-Sure.. well first, he likes sweets I guess." You hint. Ralsei walks near you, side by side. "I like sweets! This friend of yours will certainly get along with me." So clueless.

'It IS you, you dense precious little cinnamon roll!'

You rub your neck. "I guess so.. I'm going to the bake sale and order something there for him!" You says. "Can I.. tag along with you?" He adorably asks.

You lay a sweet smile on your face and affirmed. You walk with Ralsei towards the bake sale through the portal door.

Soon, you arrive at your fixed destination and approach a stand. You look up the sign to see what they sell specifically.

From the looks of it they sell donuts that are strawberry glazed with sprinkles on top. Such a classic, but it was definitely one of your favourites.

You turn to Ralsei. "Do you like strawberry glazed donuts with sprinkles on top?"

He smiles before saying anything else. "I love all things that's flavorful! So, it's a yes."

You beam, turning back to buy at least two.

* You got two strawberry glazed donut with sprinkles.

It wasn't exactly in a fancy carved box but for now, this will do. "That looks so yummy!" Ralsei says.

You decide to hand one to him. His face expresses confusion. "H-Hey! Why are you giving this to me? I-Isn't it supposed to be for your special love?"

"Yes." You waste no words. Your heart start to beat fast, nervous but at the same time excited of what might happen if you confess clearly on the spot.

A wave of silence washes over between you. "Y-You mean.." He breaks the silence.

"...you like-like me?" He questions to set things clear. You nod.

"W-Well.. wow um, as a fri-"

"No." You firmly say, turning into a shade of red. "I like-like you as if you are the solution to my puzzle. As if you are light who led me through the darkness. As if you are the half of my soul.." Poetically, you explain. Intertwining your fingers and had a deep sigh.

"What Im trying to say is.. I love you not as a friend." You end.

Ralsei stands there with an unsure face. Was he surprised? Did you go too fast? Maybe you shouldn't have done that. That was the first thing that came out of your head. Regrets after a second.

"W-Well..! Y-You don't have to feel t-the same f-for me!"

"Y/N.." Ralsei comes closer to you.

"Y-Yes..?" Your nerves were shaking. Your thoughts scream the loudest words. But then,

* Ralsei hugs you.

You felt whole. You let the moment pass for a bit until you decide to sincerely hug him back.

* You hug Ralsei.

The embrace was reasuring and warm.

"Don't worry.. I love you too!" Heavenly music waves inside your ear. Your heart flutters. "I love you not as a friend too!"

"R-Really?"

Ralsei nods. "Mhm! I love you as a best frie-"

"R-Really..?"

Ralsei gently pulls away from the hug and faces you with a smile, nodding. "I love you as in I get these butterflies in my stomach whenever you talk to me. It tingles."

Then, he takes his hat off and lightly put it on top of your head. His white fur, thin framed glasses and strong horns were visible.

'So cute oh my god.'

"I love everyone but.. it's different with you." He clarifies. An endless smile was planted on your lips as you look down on the donut you have. "Y-You're too sweet."

"And so are you! You look cute in my hat. Be careful with it though." He takes his donut and nibbles on it. "T-Thanks for this again.." Pureness was in his voice.

'I love him so much.' You thought and take a bite.

You and Ralsei ate your donuts together.

* You were not friendzoned after all.
