Dear diary,
It's been nearly 2 years since Dean and I have been together. It's been amazing! I'm definately the happiest I have ever been, and considering the way my life has been, it may not seem like much. However, I know there were times when I was with Stefan and Damon where I felt genuinely and perfectly happy.
This... this is so much better than that. It's exciting! Best part is, I don't have to worry about Sam or Dean trying to kill me.
"Elena! Will you just answer your damn phone? I'm trying to focus on a case and I'm telling you, from what I know about women, they are stubborn and persistent. I don't see her giving up until she gets what she wants."
Sam says, as he holds his head in his hands, then slides his fingers through his hair. Pulling it rather hard.
"No Sam. I'm not going to answer that. She text me a week ago and said it was important, and she needed to talk to me."
Elena then sat down her diary, and plopped her feet up on the table next to Sam's computer making a kind of clank when her heels hit the wood and then leaning back in the chair.
Sam eyed her shoes on the table, but thought better of it.
"Pick your battles. Pick your battles."
He whispered under his breath, with his eyes closed. He pursed his lips together.
"Did you say something Sam?"
"Nope!"
He decided to close his computer, and picked up a book. Flipping though the pages, as if looking for something specific. He held the book on one hand, flipping through the pages with the other. When he stopped to read it, he ran his fingers through his ear length brown hair to get it out of his eyes.
"Well then, anyways... I had text her back and asked if everyone was ok! Then she said yes, of course! That they were more than ok."
"Ok, what's the problem then?" Sam said, continuing to read in his book.
Elena decided to sit up, and placed her face in her hands.
"The problem is, that if nothing is wrong, then I don't need to know. She can do whatever she needs to do. She doesn't need my help. And I want nothing to do with that life anymore. I'm more than happy with this life I have with you guys."
"But what if..."
"No what if's Sam. No. I'm done with it. Besides, I'm supposed to be dead. Remember? I haven't even spoken to any of them in almost a year. Why now? Why all of a sudden does she need to talk to me?"
Looking up from her hands, she opens her eyes, long enough to look over at Sam. He looks withdrawn.
"Elena. You've known them your whole life. You shouldn't just act like they don't exist. They love you, and you haven't known us nearly that long. You should call her."
Elena looked at Sam, shooting daggers in his eyes.
Damn. If looks could kill, Sam would be crispy.
"The answer is no. So just drop it." Elena said with a wave of her hand, and she left the room.
Sam gave up. For the moment.
