Did he just call you THAT?!

Start from the beginning

Suddenly he hear an ear splitting roar of thunder and the whole hilltop vibrates. Air forces out of his lungs as he thought about his lonely friend below. And taking everyone into panic, a huge wave of rainstorm hit the hilltop. The air was suddenly filled with the beastly bird's squeal and frightened scream of Dec. Stephen could only stand shock-stilled on the spot.

*************

Dec let out a scream as thunder rolled and the piercing screech of the bird filled his ears. He felt the whole floor vibrating and sobs erupted from him. The bird screeched again and Dec's sobs increases as cold and strong rain hits the hillside. He was crunched closer to a corner and rain didn't really reach him directly but the force was enough to drench him. He worriedly look at the small helpless creature in his hands and find that it has gone still due to cold No...No... dont die on me.. dont die on me. He holds it closer to warm it and realise that he had gone cold....he had gone numb. The bird before him eyes both of them evily and Dec knew what was to happen.. if the cold finds him before anyone does, he will also be a prey to the bird above him. Thunder rolls again and Dec try to be as close as the wall and balls himself up with the little guy on his chest. Something fall to the floor and the bird let out another shriek and Dec whimpers at that, his eyes crunched shut. One more block of concrete and he knew the floor will give up. It was just a matter of minutes until the floor gives up and he with the cat tumble down to the valley. Dec's eyes were already drooping down as thoughts plagued his mind.

But slowly his dizziness lessens, his panic subsides and a surprising warmth spread through his heart. Because all around him, the air was filled with the mild scent of safety... mild scent of vanila, citrus and lavender.He gasp at that and as string arms wrapped around him, he sagged into the hold, willing to disappear himself into the warm chest of the other boy.
{I know....It was obvious😜😂}

Ant held the boy closer to him and his heart tugged as a small squeal erupted from somewhere near Dec's chest. A small kitten was bundled in his arms, safe and secure. He can argue he thought about these. He had planned all these and knew what he was doing. But that would be a lie. Because he hadn't. When he heard about the eagle, Ant was controlling himself from going to Dec. But only until the thunder rumbled and rain lashed onto them. He had turned and ran without another thought , without even acknowledging his friends' frantic calls. It was easy to spot the site as students were around where Dec has fallen and Ant felt a lump on his throat to see a sobbing Ali and terrified Stephen. As he reached the spot and looked below, every thoughts evaporated from him. He acted on his instinct and causing everyone around him to let their jaws hit the floor, he had held onto a small part of the broken building, balanced himself on it and had jumped on the floor below. The bird was terrified at first and Ant shooed it away with some difficulty. But blood rushed from his face as he saw Dec.......And again he would be lying if he said he knew what he did next. He didn't. From then on, his rationale had no hold on his actions. His heart and body controlled his brain as he went to the smaller boy, crouched beside him and took him in his arms, letting him fall on to his chest... and at that moment Ant realised much to his worry that this was what he wanted since he heard about Dec's accident. But why?

Sobs erupted from Dec as Ant held him close . Relief that he is safe , guilt that he had put Ant in that position, worry that he may take Ant with if he fall and more than anything gratitude for the taller boy who had no reasons to rescue him. Ant just held a sobbing Dec and realised that he had gone cold. He took the kitty from Dec's arms and puts it on his lap and takes Dec's palms in his own. He rubs his palms, arms and slowly caress his cheeks that had gone pale. The warmth of Ant's hands and sweet scent of his colonge envelope Dec and he sighs in relief. Ant's hazel eyes were looking at him with worry, sadness, most of all... guilt.
