Chapter Thirteen
-Violet's POV-
My head feeling groggy, I groaned and realized I could hear what sounded like a heartbeat thumping somewhere near me and when I concentrated with my hearing more, I could hear birds chirping out in the forest and what faintly sounded like people talking, mumbles that sounded further away. I think I must be either dreaming or going crazy, I don't remember hearing stuff like this after I turned into a vampire.
'Yes, when you were vampire.' A male voice said in my mind.
Crazy it is then, if I'm now hearing voices in my head. I then heard laughter in my head, it must be time to check myself in to a mental asylum, took me only 17 years to get to this point.
'Violet! You're not crazy and you're not going anywhere. It's me, Blane.'
'Blane?! Oh, thank gosh it's you, I thought I had finally lost the plot! Wait, what did you mean when I was a vampire?' I thought to Blane.
'You are the Chosen One, I can sense through the mate bond that you're wolf now, well partly. Youngling vampires have very dull senses, they kick in more intensely after several months of feeding and learning how to use their senses. Us wolves have our full heightened senses from birth, stronger when in wolf form, we have better hearing and strength than vampires because of our animal side, they have better sight and are faster. As the Chosen One, you'll have all that and then some, with training, your abilities and senses will grow stronger.' Blane explained to me; his voice oddly soothing in my mind now that I knew I wasn't going crazy.
Opening my eyes, I come face to face with ice blue eyes of Blane. Looking at Blane, I see his face mirroring my own shocked face.
Blurting out, I say, "What happened to your eyes?!"
"Well I could say the same thing to you."
"What?" I asked confused.
"I'm assuming my eyes are an icy blue like yours is now, I didn't read anything about the Chosen One's eye color changing, but a mate has never been recorded either for the Chosen One. There's no knowing if this is temporary or permanent, but it is a cool way to show that we're mates. Speaking of showing we're mates, let's see that mark of yours."
I tilted my head to the side to show him my neck. Hearing Blane gasp, I quickly rushed to the bathroom. Looking in the mirror, I froze at the sight of my piercing blue eyes, Blane walked up behind me, making eye contact with himself in the mirror, seeing his new eye color for the first time too.
"Wow, that's going to take some getting used to." I said.
"Tell me about it..." he said with a big smile. "Now with our marks, it confuses me as there's three different symbols to it making a triangle. For you, one on the bottom is a crescent moon with my family's royal crest. That represents the werewolf kingdom and being a leading royal, which I have the same, it's my top one though. Then the other one on the side in the same position for us both, is two tear drops, they stand for blood tears, which represents your vampire side. Lastly, the top middle symbol on you and the other bottom one on me, yours is slightly different to mine and bigger so that means it mainly represents you, like the wolf one is a little bigger on mine. It's like a crown of some sort, but unlike any royal crown that I know of. It looks familiar but I can't remember any kingdom of that symbol, the vampire's look completely different. Maybe it's a Chosen One thing?" Blane said with a confused look.
"It probably is, or just another royal thing for the werewolf kingdom. Either way it looks cool and I'm starving. Can I eat something now that's not a red liquid?" I asked as my stomach growled in response at the mention of food.
