Dan had just ordered his drink from the coffee shop and was looking for a table when he noticed how busy it was in there. All the tables had at least one person sitting at them. Looking around to see if anyone looked approachable he saw him, the most perfect man Dan had ever seen. He had beautiful black hair that almost seemed too dark to be natural and blue eyes that Dan could see from the other side of the shop.

He has sat alone at his table reading what looked to be the first Harry Potter book. Dan decided to walk over to him, telling himself that he was walking over to him because he looked the most friendly not because he was simply the most beautiful man ever.

"Hey." Dan said quietly "Mind if I sit with you? All the other places are full."

"Sure!" The man answered cheerfully setting down his book.

"Thanks," Dan said letting out a breath. "I'm Dan by the way."

"Nice to meet you, Dan, I'm Phil." The man, Phil, replied.

"Do you come here often? I don't think I've ever seen you here before." Dan asked. He went to the shop almost every day because he couldn't function without his coffee and he was rubbish at making it himself.

"No, this is my first time. I've just moved here. What about you, do you come here often?"

"Yeah" Dan admitted, looking down a little embarrassed. "I come every day."

"What? Everyday? Doesn't it get expensive?" Phil questioned, it honestly really surprised that someone could come every day. When he had first seen the price of a latte his eyes nearly popped out of his head. Who needs nearly six pounds for a drink when he could go to Starbucks and get one for around three?

"Yeah, I guess but when you're as rubbish at making coffee as me and you can't function without it, I guess you'll do anything."

"I guess." Phil sighed and shook his head.

"So," Dan implored changing the subject. "you like Harry Potter?"

Phil looked down at his book and blushed. It was childish, he knew, to be reading a children's book for what he could only guess would be over the twentieth time. "Yeah, it's nice."

"Cool, I like them too. Have you read all of them? I assume you have because you probably read it in school but, you know, still asking. Don't want to spoil anything. I hate it when people spoil things for me so I would be a huge hypocrite if I were to would spoil anything-" Dan rambled only stopping when cut off by Phil.

"Dan!" Exclaimed Phil. " Calm down. And yes I've read them all, many times actually."

"Sorry," Dan mumbled. Not sure why he has felt so flustered all the sudden.

"Don't worry I get like that too," He replied a smirk forming on his lips. "Though, it only seems to happen when I'm in the company of someone very cute and sweet." The smirk had gotten larger now. "I'm surprised it hasn't happened to me by now, to be honest. Normally talking to someone like you I'd be stumbling over my words left and right."

This caused Dan to blush and look down at the table. Phil thought he was cute? Something must be wrong, was Phil just messing with him? Dan had had that happen before and he doesn't want to repeat the awful experience.

"Have you seen me? I'm not cute or sweet! I came over and crashed at your table and interrupted your book." Dan exclaimed. He was sure Phil had been joking.

"Yeah well, it was getting boring anyway. When you read a book twenty times you kinda already know the ending." He chuckled softly.

"Well it's good to know that I'm not spoiling anything but did you say twenty times?"

Phil looked at his coffee avoiding eye contact with Dan. "Yeah, I'm a bit of a nerd I guess."

"No, no, I think it's cute!" Dan looked at Phil's red tinted cheeks and smiled.

"Yeah?" Phil's blush got even darker. "And I think you're cute."

"I do too."

"You think you're cute?" Phil smirked.

"What? No, I think you're cute!" Now Dan was even more embarrassed.

"I know that's what you meant, I was just poking fun." Phil liked looking at Dan's smile, it made him happy. He could get used to looking at that smile and those dimples.

Dan looked down at his phone, checking the time. It was about time for him to get going. Dan had become a substitute teacher after he dropped out of law school and now had to teach for a half a day today to eight-year-olds. "Well, I hate to cut our meeting short but I do have to go or I'll be late for work."

"Wait, Dan, will you meet me here again?" Phil asked scribbling something down on a napkin with a pen that seemed to come out of nowhere.

"I'd love to Phil." Dan was smiling even wider now, glad that Phil did actually seem to like him enough to see him again. "When should we meet?"

"I don't know. Here, " He handed Dan the napkin. "Text me when you can. Or call me I guess if you want."

"Will do. But I do actually have to go now, don't wanna be late." Dan laughed while getting all his things getting ready to leave. "See you soon, Phil."

"See you soon, Dan" Phil winked.

Did Dan see that right? Did Phil just wink at him? At the last moment, right before walking out of the door, Dan turned around and winked at Phil.

"I think Phil and I will get along just fine, " Dan mumbled as he walked out into the street. "...Just fine."
