"What? Why?" I asked urgently. "We are safe here and I don't exactly want a bit of metal in me."

"We have five days to get the creature. Don't you see?" Amelia was a bit angry at this.

"How do you know? It could be a coincidence, or they could have got the date wrong."

"You really think the aliens come across the stars to give us a wrong message?"

"Okay, I guess you're right. But how do we get out of here?"

She grinned "Leave that to me."

Escaping hospital was harder than I expected. It was especially difficult because of the cameras everywhere. The other problem was that there was doctor around every corner. (seriously I think they just manufacture doctors like robots!) When a doctor saw us we were luckily next to a toilet, so we went inside. We took the opportunity to take those ugly robes off, we were glad that they hadn't taken our clothes off when we got here. After that it was easy, we walked out of the front doors like one of the public into the streets of Cardiff.

"Where to now?" Amelia asked me.

"To the scene of the crime." I replied with a grin.

"The forest? Why there?"

"Haven't you watched detective movies? It's the first thing they do."

"Do you remember where it is?"

"Of course, I looked out of the window the entire bus journey. It's not far." turns out it was far. We walked two miles in our school shoes. Lets just say these boots aren't made for walking. When we got to the start of the forest it was night time and we had blisters all over our feet. The forest was no longer on fire, but the police were here for some reason. Before I could do anything a police officer came up to us.

"What are you two doing here? This is a police investigation." the officer said, a bit annoyed.

"What are you investigating? We know there was a fire but -"

"Just a fire? Ha! There are thirty missing kids and four missing adults. Only four kids were found."

"Thirty kids!?!?" I asked, surprised. That news hit me like a ton of bricks. I knew there were still some people missing, but all of them? That was astonishing.

"Yes miss, thirty kids. They were gone without a trace, it's like aliens came out of the sky and abducted them as hostages for two kids to find some alien criminal. But that's impossible."

After that he led us away from the scene and said not to come back until midday tomorrow if we want to go in there that badly.

"What now?" Amelia asked with what sounded like frustration.

"We go to the nearest hotel and get a room for the night."

"What about your- I mean our parents?"

"My parents are dead remember? And your parents hate you, that's why you live with me. Did you hit your head?" I asked worried.

It was strange, she had some memories of before the accident but there were a few blank spots in her memory. "Do you have any money?" she asked.

"Funnily enough I do. I've been saving for something big for a while, but this is more important." we made our way to the hotel closest, it was only a quarter mile from where we were. When we walked in we were greeted by a long queue.

The reception was a room with red carpet and on one wall had their logo 'travelodge'. They had two people at the reception desk, a man and a woman, and the desk itself had a wooden top with computers in front of the receptionists. There were windows behind us, on either side of the door. There were two queues as to make the wait shorter. The woman was quicker so we went to the queue in front of her. There were only five people in front of us whereas in the other queue there were eight people. We only had to wait five minutes but we could only get a single double bed room as that was the only one available.
