It had been a year since Stoick died and Valka was brought back to Berk, and six months since Hope returned home. She loved it here, and she was glad that she had her family, well, most of it. She never got to meet Stoick, but, she had some physical traits of his. And sure she had stories. But. There was one more thing that she had to remember him...
Hiccup was working in the forge on the saddles, and Hope soon arrived soon after.
"Hey Hiccup, what are you working on?" Hope peered over his shoulder
"Some new saddle designs for the new dragon species using the notes that you, mom, and Fishlegs got." Hiccup looked up slightly
"Wow, wait, which species is that?"
"Hobblegrunt"
"Oh yeah, and, is that CloudJumper?"
"Yeah, it is"
"I thought mom hatted saddles?"
"She does, but that doesn't mean that if we come across any other Stormcutters we can't give them saddles."
"Makes sense"
"What were you in here to work on?"
"A little project I've been thinking about."
"And what's in the bag?"
"Some of Treasure's old spines" (Treasure is a Razorwhip, but I wanted her to be the light fury, and she will once the Hidden World comes out)
"And why do you have some of her old spines?"
"You'll see"
It went silent, until Hiccul started singing 'For the Dancing and the Dreaming' under his breath
"I'll swim and sail on Savage seas
With never a fear of drowning
And gladly ride the waves of life
If you will marry me-e"
Hope stopped for a minute, thinking that he couldn't have been singing, but he was, well too
"No scorching sun
Nor freezing cold
Will stop me on my journey
If you will promise me your heart"
Hiccup sighed, with that song bringing back memories of his father, but, then, Hope started singing
"And love me for eternity
My dearest one my darling dear
Your mighty words astound me
But I've no need of mighty deeds when I feel your arms around me"
Hiccup continued singing Stoick's part, while Hope Valka's (Hope is italics and Hiccup is bold)
"But I would bring you rings of gold
I'd even sing you poetry
And I would keep you from all harm
If you would stay beside me"
"I have no use for rings of gold
I care not for your poetry
I only want your hand to hold
I only want you near me"
"To love to kiss to sweetly hold
For the dancing and the dreaming
Through all life's sorrows and delights
I'll keep you laugh inside me
I'll swim and sail on savage seas
With never a fear of drowning
I'd gladly ride the waves so white
And you would marry me"
When they finished they were laughing for a little bit but what they didn't know was that Valka was listening to them the whole time
"How do you know that song?" Hiccup walked over to his sister
"I don't know, I've had this very faint memory of mom and dad singing it to us when we were babies, and then one day it popped into my head and I couldn't stop singing it for like a week" Hope finished
"Well, you have that right, we did sing it to you two when you were babes" Valka rounded the corner
"Hey Mom, how long were you over there?" Hiccup asked
"Long enough to hear you two singing"
"Oh God's" Hiccup and Hope said at the same time
"And, I'm glad that you to know the song word for word"
"I am too Mom, I am too" Hope said
And with that Hiccup, Astrid, Hope and Eret would sing that song to their kids, so that the memory of Stoick would live on for decades
