Chapter 29

"Elise" Sue said standing up and walking over to me. She wrapped me in a hug and we cried into each other. "I'm so sorry!" I cried as she held me tighter. We pulled away and I looked around. "Where is Seth and Leah?" I asked and Sue shook her head. "Leah ran away and Seth is in his room" She said and I nodded before walking up the stairs to Seths room.

I knocked on the door before entering and saw him curled up I his bed hugging a photo of him and his dad when he was younger. "He looked over his shoulder and saw me. I walked over as he sat up and wrapped him in a hug. He sobbed into my shoulder and I tried biting back my tears. "He's gone!" Seth cried and I stroked his head. "It's going to be ok. He's in a better place" I cooed and he nodded.

After another 30 minutes I decided to head home. "Call me if you need help with anything" I said to Sue and she nodded after giving me one last tight hug. I got back into my car and drove home. After 15 minutes I pulled into the driveway and climbed out of the car seeing Carlisle's black car. My mouth fell ajar as I ran into the house and saw Bella sitting on the couch with Alice!

"Alice!" I said in shock before running over and hugging her tightly as she wrapped her cold arms around me. "Elise you're ok!" Alice said holding me at arms length. "What do you mean? Of course I'm ok" I said looking at her confused. "I had a vision of you a few days ago. You were on the ground screaming for your life!" She said and I remembered the Paul incident.

"O-Oh. Yeah umm a wolf saw me and I fell over and thought it was going to kill me" I explained and she nodded. "You didn't tell Jasper did you?" I said sitting down beside Bella. "No and I didn't tell Edward about your little stunt" Alice said and I nodded. "He only calls in once every few months. He said he wanted to be alone" Alice said quietly.

"What about Jasper?"I asked and she turned to me. "He never leaves his room. He hasn't hunted for 3 months" She said and I gasped slightly. "Girls what is that god-awful wet dog smell?" Alice said in disgust. "Um...that's probably me" Bella said. "Or it's Jacob" I added. "Jacob who?" Alice asked in confusion.

"Jacob's kind of a werewolf" Bella said awkwardly. "Girls! Werewolves are not good company to keep!" Alice scolded. "Speak for yourself" Jacob said as he entered the house causing Alice to stand up. "I had to see that you two were safe" He admitted and we nodded. "I thought you couldn't protect us here" Bella said. "Guess I don't care" Jacob replied stubbornly.

"Well, I'm not going to hurt them" Alice said. "No, you're just a harmless Cullen. I'm talking about the other bloodsucker who tried to kill Bella and Elise because of you" Jacob snapped. "Victoria?" Alice said confused. "Yeah. Victoria's been around" I said before biting my bottom lip. "I didn't see her. I didn't see you get pulled out of the water either and I didn't see what thing attacked you Elise. I can't see past you and your pack of mutts!" Alice snapped back annoyed.

"Don't get me upset" Jacob warned. "Hey stop!" I snapped standing up. "Or things are going to get very ugly" Jacob continued. "Stop, stop, stop, stop!" Bella said as she got between the two. "I'll give you a minute" Alice said before walking to the door. "Hey, you're not going anywhere? You're coming back right?" Bella said and Alice gave a small smile.

"As soon as you put the dog out" Alice said before exiting the house. I looked back at Jacob and Bella before exiting the house too. "Jasper asks me all the time about you. If you're ok" Alice said as she looked into the trees. "I dream about him all the time. Write about him in my diary. He's on my mind everyday" I said crossing my arms. "He misses you a lot" She said turning to me and I gave her a sad smile.

"Elise you're tiny. How much weight have you lost?" She asked and I sighed beginning to think. "Well I weighed about 105 pounds before you guys left so like 15 pounds" I said and she sighed shaking her head. "So are you guys coming back to town?" I asked and she shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know" She replied and I nodded.

"So are they dating now?" She asked referring to Jacob and Bella. "I don't know and quite frankly I don't care" I replied and Alice giggled. She went say something however she gasped and froze. "Alice?" I said confused and after a few moments she blinked a few times. "Oh my God" She whispered to herself. "What? What did you see?" I asked and she looked at me.

"It's Edward! He thinks Bella is dead! Rosalie told him. He's going to the Volturi to die" She said before opening the door and approaching Bella explaining to her what she had told me. "Why would you-why didn't you let me speak to him?!" Bella cried angrily. "He didn't ask for you" Jacob seethed. "I don't care!" Bella cried back.

"Bella he's going to the Volturi. He wants to die too" Alice said holding Bella as arms length. "We have to get to him" Bella said scared. "Ok" Alice said. "I'll stay here" I said and Bella nodded before she and Alice walked out of the house. "He left you Bella! He didn't want you anymore remember?!" Jacob said trying to persuade Bella to stay.

"No. I'm not going to let him kill himself out of guilt" Bella argued getting into the car. "Well what about your sister and your dad?" Jacob continued. "I'm 18. I'm legally free to go and I left a note and Elise is here" Bella said shutting the door. "Please Bella" Jacob said as he leaned into the car. "Just...stay here. For Charlie. For Elise. For me" Jacob pleaded and I rolled my eyes.

"Jacob just let her go" I said placing my hand on his back. "I have to go" Bella replied. Jacob removed his arm from inside the car. "I'm begging you. Please" He begged. "Goodbye Jacob" Bella whispered. Jacob stepped away from the car and I walked after him glancing back at Alice and Bella for one more moment. Alice sped off and I watched as the car disappeared.

"Jacob wait!" I called running to him as he punched the tree. "How could she want that leech when he left her?! When he said he didn't want her!" He yelled throwing a branch into the woods. "Jacob calm down" I said holding his arms. "I have to get out of here before I do something stupid" He said before running into the trees. I heard clothes ripping and some growling. I sighed and waked back inside my house making my way upstairs to my room.

I changed into some pyjamas and laid down on my bed. I rolled onto my left side facing the window and listened to the wind. My eyes felt heavy and I closed them drifting asleep.

I felt a small brush of wind and felt someone stroking my hair. I opened my eyes and looked up to see...Jasper. I sat up shaking my head letting out a sigh. "I'm still dreaming" I groaned and felt a cold hand hold my arm. "You aren't dreamin darlin'"...
